Obituary: Rockwell City – Robert S. Martin 83, passed away , 30, 2014 at his home. Memorial services will be 1:30 p.m. , Dec. 6, at St. Pauls Lutheran Church, Rockwell City, with Pastor James Hoover Mossman officiating. Visitation will be 12:30 p.m. at the Church until service time. Flag presentation by the Rockwell City Veterans Organization. Palmer & Swank is serving the family. Memorials may be left to St. Pauls Lutheran Church. Robert is survived by his children, Teri (Bob) Herum of Cincinnati, OH, Caryl (Tim) Fuoss of rural Whittemore, and Michael (Teresa) Martin of Pleasant Hill; three grandchildren, Nick (Christina) Herum, Derek Martin, and Krystin (Robert) Amspoker; four great-grandchildren, Christian, Gavin, Austin, and Rowen Amspoker; and brother Tony (Willa) Martin of Ruidos, NM. He was preceded in death by his wife Anna Mae Martin; infant son Kim Robert Martin; his parents, Archelaus and Marjorie (Dyke) Martin; and sister Betty Miller. Robert Stanley Martin was born 19, 1931 at Shenandoah, Iowa. He graduated from Shenandoah High School, with the Class of 1949. In 1952, he served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and was honorably discharged in 1953 attaining the rank of Sergeant. On 25, 1954 he was united in marriage to Anna Mae Johnson at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Essex. The couple established their home in Rockwell City, where Bob was employed at the Rockwell City Advocate. In 1960, he worked for the Fort Dodge Messenger Newspaper and later transferred to the Messenger Printing . Anna Mae passed away 5, 2014. Robert was an active member of St. Pauls Lutheran Church. |

Obituary: Robert L. Martin, 71, of Davenport, died , 15, 2010 at home after a long battle with cholesterol emboli syndrome. services will be held at 11:30 AM , 20, 2010 at the Runge Mortuary. Visitation will be from 5-7 PM , 19, 2010 at the mortuary. Burial will be at Davenport Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the family. Online condolences can be left at www.rungemortuary.com. Bob was born 1, 1938 in Davenport, IA. He served in both the Army and Navy. He was united in marriage to Harriett OMahony in 1962. He later met and married the love of his life, Linda, on 2, 1990. He retired as a truck driver from Republic Companies. He was a past master mason of Davenport Masonic Lodge #37. He loved to tell a story no matter how long it took and was a kind and loving man who will be missed by many. Those left to honor his memory are his wife, Linda; children, Jeanette, Theresa (Chris), Christine (Jeff), Rick (Angie), Shawn (Vicky), Jill (Ron), Steve (Tracy), Kelly (Tom), Kristina (Michael), Caralee (Hunter), and Brian (Danelle); a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren; nieces and nephews; a brother, Bill; a sister, Judy (Rick); and his three, beloved spoiled cats, Skeeter, Harley, and Isward. He was preceded in death by his parents; two infant brothers; a daughter, Diane; and a grandson, Ricky. |
