Obituary: Thomas N. Tom Manning, age 71, of Dubuque, Iowa, was called home peacefully at 2:45 a.m., on , 7, 2017, at Mercy Medical , Dubuque, surrounded by his loving family. To honor Toms life, private family services were held. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary . Behr , 1491 Main Street, is in charge of arrangements. Tom was born on 26, 1945, in Dubuque, Iowa, son of Henry and Delores (Hemmer) Manning. Tom was a lifelong resident of Dubuque and a graduate of Dubuque Senior High School. He worked for many years at the Eagles Market on Elm and always enjoyed making friends with his co-workers and customers alike. Tom was united in marriage to his bride, Rita, for five years until she was sadly called home much to early over 33 years ago. Tom would go on to live the remainder of his days as a quiet, yet sometimes vocal, bachelor who could find the simple joys in sitting down to an old western, or even a trip to the casino to try his luck at the machines that day. Unfortunately, health issues have continued to plague Tom these last few years and his slow decline has been apparent to all who knew and loved him. We are saddened by his absence, but we know that hes finally made his last visit to the doctors office, and is once again holding the hand of his dear Rita, while sitting around the table with his folks catching up on all the new wonders. Those left to cherish Toms memory include his siblings, Jo Ann (Marty) Gansemer, Dubuque, IA, William Bill (Nancy) Manning, Dubuque, IA, Richard (Susan) Manning, Davenport, IA, Linda Perry, Dubuque, IA, Julie McLaughlin, Dubuque, IA and Robert (Vickie) Manning, Kansas City, MO; and numerous nieces and nephews. Tom was preceded in death by his parents; and his loving wife, Rita Manning. Toms family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff of Mercy Hospital, Tri-State Dialysis, and The Rose, for all of the kind, compassionate and professional care they provided Tom. |

Obituary: Libertyville Mildred Veda Manning, 93 of Libertyville, died 19, at her home in Libertyville, Iowa. She was born 10, 1922 near Libertyville to Seldon and Myra Hutton Smith. Mildred lived in the Batavia area until she was united in marriage to Warren Manning on 11, 1945 at the Little Brown Church. He preceded her in death on 5, 1985. Mildred was a member of the Faith United Methodist Church in Libertyville. She did bookkeeping for W. Manning and Sons and was secretary at the Libertyville Schools for thirty- nine years. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Warren; one son: Craig; one granddaughter: Kelly; one brother: Carl Smith and one daughter-in-law: Becky. Surviving family members include 2 sons: Chris and his wife Joni Manning of Fairfield; Jon Manning and friend Angie Richardson of Libertyville; 4 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; along with many nieces and nephews. Services will be 10:30 a.m. at Faith United Methodist Church in Libertyville with Pastor Elizabeth Bell officiating. The Family will receive friends on from 6-8 p.m. at Raymond in Fairfield. Memorials may be made the Hospice Compassus. Per Mildreds wishes her body will be cremated after the service and burial of ashes will be at a later date at the Batavia in Batavia.
