Obituary: Emerson Earl Moore, DDS, BSD, MSD - CDR USN (ret), died, yesterday, at the age of 88. He was born in Fairland, IN on May 21st, 1924. He grew up on a farm, during the depression and learned the value of hard work and a dollar. Earl was one of the youngest Naval Aviators to fly fighter planes in the Pacific in WW2. He then flew the Berlin Airlift, from 48 to 49. This was considered the "first battle of the Cold War." Dad then went to China, where he instructed Nationalist Chinese pilots in aviation and combat flying techniques. Earl went to Texas Christian University and was about to go to dental school, when he was called up to fly in Korea, in 1951. He flew transport planes of Marines and equipment into combat zones, such as the Chosin Reservoir. his time in Korea, he went to Baylor of Dentistry, where he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery. He spent some time with Dr. Debakey and others in Houston and made another study program and earned a BSD. His research into blood flow and other physiological areas was peaked by his invention of a blood flow meter, which was used in medicine for many years. Dad then went back to Baylor and got his MSD in Periodontology. He was the 5th degreed Periodontist in North Texas. He practiced for more than 50 years and taught in Periodontics, and Hygiene, at Baylor and Carruth. He retired from the Navy Dental Corps in 1984 as a Commander (O-5). In those days, he had already earned the O-4 rank of LT Commander, as an aviator, but had to drop back down in rank, when he transitioned into the Dental Corps. He holds several air medals and awards for the various Wars and campaigns in which he participated. He is survived by his wife and our mom, Betty Claire, sons, William Christopher and E. Drew Moore, DDS, MS, and our wives and children. He had a stroke on the 26th of and fought up until the end. We all love him very much and he will be sorely missed. But, we know that he is made whole and is in Heaven. |

Obituary: Elizabeth Jane Betty Moore, 76, of Liberty, died on , 10, 2016 at Reid in Richmond. Betty was born in Richmond to Wayne and Bessie Lilly Davis on 29, 1940. Betty never knew her mother who died shortly after childbirth. She was raised by Alberta Ingram Davis, her fathers second wife. Betty graduated from Liberty Short High School in 1959. On 15, 1959, she married William Virgle Moore and enjoyed over fifty-three years together before he died on 1, 2013. Betty was a homemaker and did a lot of babysitting over the years. She loved playing bingo, watching her grandchildren play sports, and spending time with her family. Betty is survived by two daughters: Cindy Crane of Liberty and Vicky Pfledderer, and husband Scott, of Yorkshire, OH; a sister: Aneida Templeton of Walkerton, IN; grandchildren and their spouses: Tisha Donovan, Rachel Dunn and Rick, Nick Stout and Cory, Zack Stout and Kayla all of Liberty, Levy Stout and Ashley of Zionsville, and Sarah Alcorn and Michael of Connersville; eleven great-grandchildren: Tyler, Amanda, and Hanna Dunn, Lain, Emma, Jackson, Grace, Karlee and Owen Stout, Cameron Donovan, and Waylon Alcorn; and several nieces and nephews. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one sister, Carol Ramey, and a son-in-law, Keith Crane. services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on , 13th, at Showalter Blackwell Long , Fosdick Chapel in Liberty with Evangelist Doris Westerman officiating. Obituary: E. Keith Moore Woodland parkway Columbus, Indiana Keith Moore died peacefully after a long illness , 13, 2010 at the age of 87. He was surrounded by his family throughout his illness and death. Keith will be remembered by his family and friends for his faith, courage, love, kindness and generosity. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Hester Ann Beatty Moore and children Dr. Jeffrey Moore (Susan) of Evansville and Jennifer Manning (David) of Columbus; grandchildren Dr. Daniel Moore (Jaci) of Seattle, Ashley Manning of Indianapolis, David, Kristin, and Sarah Moore of Evansville and Michael Manning of Columbus and one great-grandchild. Also surviving are three brothers: Merril (Louise) of North Vernon, Loren (Ruth) Moore of Nashville and Ray (Janet) Moore of Cortland. He was the son of Harold and Elma Moore of Brown . Keith was born and raised in Brown where he attended high school and played basketball and baseball. He enlisted in the Navy at the start of WWII and spent most of his time aboard the destroyer USS Morris in the South Pacific. He received nine battle stars and was cited for meritorious conduct after the Morris was hit by a kamikaze plane that killed 27 sailors. serving in the Navy he returned to Columbus where he resided the rest of his life. He worked for Cosco for 38 years before joining Hurco Corporation in Indianapolis in 1978 as executive vice president and chief operating officer and eventually president of Hurco International. He traveled frequently to Europe and Asia where he still has many friends. To honor Keiths achievements, Hurco presented him with the first annual E. Keith Moore Distinguished Service Award in 1987. He retired from Hurco in 1999. During his working career he served on the board of directors of the Juvenile Products Manufacturers Association, Association for Manufacturing Technology (AMT) and National for Manufacturing Sciences (NCMS); and was a member of the U.S. Department of Commerce Presidents Export Council/Subcommittee on Export Administration. He also served on the Board of Directors of two NASDAQ companies and one privately held company. Keith was a charter member of North Christian Church where he remained active. He served as chair of the congregation, elder, trustee, school superintendent and was on the architecture committee responsible for the design and construction of the current building. He was a strong believer in community service in Columbus. Over the years he served on the board of The Commons, United Way, Junior Achievement, Boys Club, Foundation for Youth and Columbus Area Chamber of Commerce; and chairman of the Solid Waste Disposal Authority. He received the Outstanding Boss of the Year Award by the Columbus Jaycees in 1974. Other memberships have included Kiwanis, Jaycees, Harrison Lake Country Club, Scottish Rite, Shriners, American Legion and Masonic Lodge. Visitation will be , 15 at Hathaway- Myers Chapel on Pearl Street from 4:00 - 8:00 pm. The funeral is , 16 at North Christian Church at 11:00 am with Rev. Lanny Lawler officiating. Calling will start at 10:00 prior to the service. Entombment with Military rites by the Bartholomew Color guard will be in Garland Brook Mausoleum.
