Obituary: Millie Queen Muhammad was born 26, 1950 to Earnest Sr. and Annie Lee Young in Mississippi and raised in Chicago, Illinois. As a child, she attended Garfield Elementary School. She also graduated from Crane High School and completed two years of college and graduated from the School of to pursue a career at Cook Hospital. Millie, known to those close to her as Bey, was not only a loving mother; she was a nurturer to the many lives that she touched. Beys relationship with her family displayed the true meanings of the words Strength, Courage, and most of all Love. What you are is Gods gift to you, and what you do with yourself is your gift to God.And Beys character spoke for itself and all of us who came to know her. We can all bear witness that she was a warrior until the end. Her strong will and unconditional love and faith in Allah (God) guided her to the Nation of Islam, Submitting during 1994. Millie received her X and became a registered Muslim. She also became well acquainted with the Power Circle Congregation in Chicago, IL, under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Joseph E. Hill. Millie fought a good battle. Warriors never shedding a tear and constant faith in her will through Allah (God) to live life. On 28, 2011 she began her journey with God, and we love unselfishly and give her back to the creator. Obituary: passed away peacefully in Phoenix on 31, 2015 at the age of 94. He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on 30, 1921. When World War II broke out Bob joined the Army to serve his country. Returning in 1945 he married the love of his life Joan. In 1960, tired of traipsing through the snow, they packed up the family and moved to Phoenix. Bob worked as a letter carrier for 39 years. He also worked for Valley National Bank and was a school bus driver. Bob was a longtime parishioner at SS. Simon and Jude where he coached little league baseball, ushered, served on the parish council and finally was an altar boy. He and Joan loved going to their cabin in Strawberry. This was extra special when the grand kids visited. Bob was preceded in death by his parents Michael and Clara and brother Don. He is survived by his wife Joan, daughter Susan Gomez (Martin), son Jerry (Karen), son Jim (Julie), and daughter Terri Vehon (Dave) eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Services will be held on , 7 at 10 am at SS. Simon and Jude Cathedral with internment to follow at Holy Cross . In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Sisters of Loreto Retirement Fund, 6351 N. 27th Avenue, Phoenix, AZ 85017 |
