Obituary: Paul S. Morris 12, 1923 - 6, 2015 Paul Samuel Morris, 91, passed away 6, 2015 at his home in Boise surrounded by family. Paul was born 12, 1923 to Samuel and Eva Morris in Union, South Carolina. He was the third of five siblings. His early life was a simple time spent growing up in company owned housing in the Monarch Mill Village, in Union, South Carolina. He enjoyed making his own toys and playing baseball. Birthdays and holidays were not celebrated. He was the first in his family to graduate from high school, graduating from Union High in 1940. high school he worked in the Monarch cotton mill in Union until being drafted into the Army on 15, 1943. Paul served as an aircraft mechanic on the B-24 Liberator. various assignments including, Biloxi, MS., San Diego, CA, Fort Worth, TX., Kerns, UT., and eventually Gowen Field in Boise, Paul was discharged in 1946 with the rank of sergeant. In the spring of 1944 at the First Baptist Church he met Ruth Burrow. Paul and Ruth were married on 2, 1945. raised three children; Ron, Kathy and Gordon. Gordon passed away in 2000 of a sudden heart attack. In of 1946 Paul began a nearly 40 year career with First Security Bank serving in positions ranging from Loan Interview, Assistant Manager, Branch Manager in Garden City and finally retiring as Assistant V.P. of Operations in 1985. He created many lifelong relationships with co-workers and customers. In the early 1960s Paul and Ruth purchased land on the South Fork of the Payette River in Lowman. He spent most of the 60s improving the land and building the cabin. Upon retirement Paul and Ruth spent summers in Lowman entertaining friends and family. The cabin was his passion; he spent every summer until his death tinkering around the cabin. Paul and Ruth lived on Dill Street until building their dream home on Columbus in the 60s. visited family in South Carolina frequently, traveled the United States and Alaska in the motor home and a trip to Hawaii to visit friends. Ruth passed away on 31, 2001. In the spring of 2004 while attending the University Christian Church he met Louise Diggs. Paul and Louise were married on 27, 2004. spent time in Lowman, enjoyed trips to South Carolina and visiting Louises daughter Sharon and husband Clyde in Colville, Washington. Louise passed away on 28, 2013. Paul was a self-taught handyman. He spent his time repairing antiques, fixing cars, building the cabin and making several pieces of furniture for his home and family. His greatest legacy is his unwavering faith and commitment to family. He was an active member of the University Christian Church in Boise for over 50 years, which was renamed to Parkview Christian Church in Meridian until his death. He helped start the Lowman Community Church, serving as Chairman for nine years. Paul is survived by his children, Ron (Kathy) Morris and Kathy (Vance) Miller, eight grandchildren, Jeff Morris, Rich Morris, Kyle Morris, Heidi Darrah, Jonna Paugh, Jenny Smith, Michael Walters, Shannon Crozier and 12 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Sam and Eva. Siblings, Marie, Claude, Vera and Helen, his son Gordon, wife Ruth and wife Louise. A viewing will be held at Cloverdale , 1200 N. Cloverdale Rd. Boise, Idaho, , 11, 2015 from 6 to 8 pm. Memorial services will be held at Parkview Christian Church, 201 W. Ustick Rd., Meridian, Idaho, 83646, , 12, 2015 at 11:00am, followed with a reception at the church. Interment follows at Cloverdale . Obituary: Joan Shull Morris, born to Joseph and Gladys Shull, 18, 1940 in Challis, Idaho, died in her home with her beloved husband at her side, early morning, 6, 2016, from the effects of FTLD and HHT. Joan grew up in Layton, Utah surrounded by a large and loving family and many friends. This formed the foundation of her loving, hard working, and honest character. She attended Davis High School through her junior year. She then matriculated to the University of Utah for freshman year. She later received her Bachelor of Arts degree in History from the University of Idaho. Known for her keen intellect, she developed a life long love of reading, learning, and exploration early in life. She enjoyed participating in ballet and other artistic pursuits. Joan had many talents and encouraged her children to develop their talents from within. She was a talented seamstress, and created beautiful wedding cakes for family and friends. She was a Daughter of Utah Pioneers, and a Master Gardener. Joan also volunteered as a teacher of persons working toward earning their United States Citizenship. Most importantly, she was the Worlds Best Mother! Joan was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (LDS). She truly loved Family History work, and served as a genealogical name extractor, researcher, and teacher. She also served as a primary teacher, Relief Society Advisor, taught seminary and served a local mission with her husband Earl at LDS Employment Services. Joan, the third child of Joseph and Gladys Shull is preceded in death by her parents, brother Michael, sister Mary, and grandsons Joshua and Michael. She is survived by her husband, Earl; sister Peggy Applonie (Rod), brothers Joe Shull (Sandy), and Douglas Shull; sister-in-law Donna Shull; brother-in-law Charles (Chuck) Holden; children Debra Morris, Sandra Weaver (Mike), Perry Morris, JoAnn Morris, Alan Morris, and Trevor Morris (Patricia); eleven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her sweet, kind, loving spirit. She will be remembered in a Service , 14, 2016 at the LDS Chapel at 723 Hankins Rd in Twin Falls, at 11:30. A viewing will be held at Reynolds Chapel the 13th from 6:00-8:00pm, and at the church on from 10:00-11:00am. She will be lovingly put to rest on , 15, 2016, at Idaho States Veterans , 10100 N. Horseshoe Bend Rd, Boise, at 1:00pm following a short service. The family would like to thank St. Lukes Hospice RN's, CNA's, and Social Workers who so lovingly cared for Joan for the past 10 months.
