Obituary: Patricia Ann Marten, 79, of Phoenix, passed away on 24th. Pat was born in Manson, Iowa, in 1937 to Gladys and Benjamin Marten. She leaves 2 brothers, 4 sons and 8 grandchildren. Valuing education, she graduated from Manson High School, Cottey , Iowa State University, and finally, with a Masters degree, from the University of Nebraska-Omaha. A ground breaker, for a time, she was Iowas only female architect. Patty was a proud member of the Delta Zeta sorority and P.E.O. During her marriage to Chuck Boetel, Pat raised her four sons in Omaha Nebraska. There she continued to design home additions and served on the Brownell-Talbot Friends Association, and other community organizations. In the 1980s Pat and her flock migrated to the sunny state of Arizona. Here she ran a snack food company providing popcorn, for every major grocer in the state. Later in her career she switched to accounting and for the last two decades she managed the Sandpiper Apartments in Phoenix, where she resided until her death. Her love for her family will always be with us. She is survived by her brothers, Bill and Jim Marten, and her sons, Marty, Geody, Greg, and Kip Boetel, and her loving grandchildren. Her memorial service will be held at 11 am , 4, at Lakeshore Mortuary in Mesa. |
