Obituary: Nicky Wayne Martin, 72, a life-long resident of Acworth, succumbed to lung cancer surrounded by his family on , 14, 2015. Nick was born May 15, 1943 at home in Acworth, Georgia to John Will and Mamie (Earwood) Martin. He graduated from North Cobb High School in 1961 and from Kennesaw Junior in 1972. Nick worked at Lockheed in Engineering for 10 years. Upon leaving Lockheed, he then began his own general contracting business, Nick Martin, Inc. During that time, Nick worked with numerous Atlanta architects designing and building custom homes. He found his niche designing hardscapes, and after 30+ years of beautifying these homes and hardscapes, he retired. In his later years, he spent much of his time restoring his boat, fishing, ballroom dancing, and traveling with his wife across the globe. His favorite pastime was always spending time with his family. Nick is survived by his wife of 22 years, Ginny Martin; his sons, Cory Martin of Conroe, TX, Josh Martin and wife Mende of Dallas, GA, and Ryan Keith and wife Chrissy of Acworth, GA; his daughters, Mandy Martin Sollicito and husband Bill of Acworth, GA, Erin Ferguson and husband Lane of Dallas, GA, and Shannon Albright and husband James of Acworth, GA; his eleven grandchildren, Nathan, Kayla, Jackson, Reagan, Brayden, Gunnar, Ashtyn, Grant, Sawyer, Locklyn, and Baby Boy Keith. Also, his father-in law, Frank Zeik of Ft. Myers, Fla. He was preceded in death by his son, Michael Todd Martin, his parents, John Will and Mamie Martin, and his siblings, Carroll Martin and Glenda Mathis. Visitation will be from 6:00 - 8:00 PM on , 18, at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge in Kennesaw, Georgia. services will be held on , 19 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Nick will be interred in the Chapel Mausoleum at Pine Ridge Memorial Park followed by a celebration of his life at the Pine Ridge Reception .
