Obituary: Lois J. Laurinat, 85, passed away 29, 2011. She was born 28, 1925 in Columbus, GA. She was a graduate of Florida Junior with honors and worked as a Hematology Assistant. A proud Navy wife, she was a volunteer for the US Naval Hospital. She was a member of Arlington Congregational Church, an avid reader and a volunteer for over 18 years to the local Jacksonville Library. Family members include her husband of 64 years, Commander Henry Laurinat and two sons Douglas S. and Henry P. Laurinat all of Jacksonville, Florida. Services will be held at 11am, , 4, 2011 at Arlington Congregational Church, 431 University Blvd. N., Jacksonville, FL 32211 with Rev. Dr. Bruce Havens officiating. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow at Arlington Memorial Park. Obituary: Henry S. (Larry) Laurinat, 94, passed away , 24, 2015. He was born 5, 1921 in Mapleton, Iowa. While he was attending Wayne State he entered the U.S. Navy in 1942 and was commissioned an Ensign and designated a Naval Aviator in 1942. During WWII Commander Laurinat served in Bombing Squadron Three aboard the USS Saratoga (CV-3) and then the USS Yorktown (CV-10). Following the war, he served a tour of duty in the Naval Air Advanced Training Command as a flight instructor. During 1948-1950, he served in Patrol (VP) Squadrons 41 and 47 as a Martin Mariner (PBM) pilot. His military career continued to have numerous assignments around the world including attending the Naval War in Rhode Island in 1959-1960. He retired from military service in 1963 having been awarded the Air Medal with a Gold Star; The Presidential Citation; American Theater; Philippine Liberation and the China Service medals. He then continued his education and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts and Economics degree from Wayne State . He moved to Jacksonville in 1966 and began teaching social studies in the Duval School system. He furthered his education by earning a Masters of Arts in Teaching degree from Jacksonville University. In 1970, he became Project Director for the City of Jacksonville Department of Housing and Urban Development. He continued to work in management positions through 1986 when he retired. In 1946 he married Lois Jeanette Patterson in Jacksonville, FL. were married for 65 years until her passing in 2011. He is survived by his two sons, Henry and Douglas. service will be held at 11am, , 31, 2015 at Arlington Congregational Church, 431 University Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32211. Obituary: Dolores E. Des Lauries Dolores (Dorie) E. Des Lauries of Naples, FL, and formerly of Bloomingdale, IL , died 9, 2014. Before retiring to naples, FL, Dorie was a Top Producing Real Estate Agent for 30 years in Illinois. It was her passion. She was preceded in death by her son, Larry, and a Brother Charles Lessner. Dorie is survived by her son Gary, of Deer park, IL and her daughter, Kathleen (Jack) of Naples,FL and her beloved dog, Murphy. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations in Dories memory be made to either the Humane Society of naples or Avow Hospice of Naples, FL. The family wishes to thank the all nurses and physicians at AVOW Hospice involved, for their loving care of Dorie. This one of a kind Mother and Friend will be greatly missed everyday. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date. |
