Obituary: Helen K. Latosz of Greenwich, a proud first generation Polish American died peacefully at her home with family members at her side on 5, 2017. She was born on May 13, 1924 to the late Anthony and Anna Slusarz and lived her entire life in the Greenwich area. Her son John Latosz Jr. survives her along with his wife Gail, 6 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, her sister Jane Steger of Greenwich, several nieces and nephews, and daughter Jeanette Vossler. In addition to her parents, her husband John Lastosz Sr. and 13 siblings predeceased her. Helen was educated in the Greenwich and Mt. Kisco N.Y. school systems. During World War II she supported the war effort by working at Electrolux in Greenwich helping to manufacture electrical components for defense equipment. Helen was a devoted member of Saint Timothy Chapel in Banksville serving as a founding member of the Saint Timothy Chapel Ladies Guild. She was also a founding member of the Banksville Independent Fire Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed cooking, particularly celebrating her Polish heritage with ethnic Easter and Christmas recipes passed down to her from her parents native Poland. Her greatest joy was visiting her beloved great-grandchildren, watching them grow and marveling at their accomplishments. She loved them dearly and did not hesitate to brag about them in a great-grandmotherly way. She thought of them as her Angels right up to the time of her passing. Her friends and family will miss her kindness, her sense of concern and her wonderful cooking. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on 11, 2017 at 10:30 am at Saint Michael of the Archangel Church, 469 North Street in Greenwich. At Helens request her burial will be private. In lieu of flowers charitable gestures may be made in her memory. |

Obituary: Walter L. Junie Latimer, Jr., 60 of East Hartford passed away on 11, 2015. He was born in New Haven, CT; on 4, 1954, to the late Walter L, Sr., and Angelina (Cornacchia) Latimer. Walter worked as a Machine Operator for Elg Utica Alloy, Inc. of Hartford, CT for many years. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and singer. Walter loved his family and was known to be a hard worker and a person who loved everyone. He will be missed by all who knew him. Besides his loving wife Darnell E. Latimer of East Hartford, CT; Walter is also survived by his daughters, Vachon and Brooke Latimer both of West Hartford, CT; his son, Michael (Jessica) Edwards of Framingham, MA; brothers, Anthony , Richard Latimer both of Hartford, CT; Lester Latimer of New Haven, CT; sisters, Rose Mary Latimer of East Hartford, CT; Angelina, Tina Latimer both of Hartford , CT; Quatisha Smith of New Haven, CT , Lorine Murphy, Mary Almeida both of North Carolina; Rosetta Pearson of Maryland; ten grandchildren and host of other relatives and friends. Obituary: Phyllis Lucille Lathrop, 91, died peacefully at Crescent Point in Niantic, CT. She was born on 22, 1926 in Sterling, CT and her parents were Raymond J. and Florence (Onderdonk) Lathrop of Plainfield, CT. Phyllis graduated from Plainfield High School in 1944 and then Willimantic State Teachers in 1948 and later earned her Master's degree from UCONN. Her first teaching assignment was at Fair Oaks elementary school in Montville, CT where she taught for 10 years and she then transferred to Rock Hill School in Wallingford, CT and taught there for 34 years. Phyllis was a member of the Wallingford Congregational Church where she was a former deaconess and active committee person. She had great interest in history and she belonged to the Wallingford Historical Society. Phyllis spent many years researching her family's genealogy which dates back to the early settlers. Phyllis is survived by her sister, Dencie Lathrop Guindon of East Lyme CT and nephews Edward E. Edgar, 111 of Chesapeake, VA and Attorney Chad L. Edgar of Branford, CT. Also, niece Dr. Susan Edgar-Smith of ville, PA. A memorial service will be held on , 7th, 2:00 PM at the Fulton-Theroux , 13 Lake Avenue, Niantic, CT.
