Obituary: Lafleur, Carolyn Ruby (Stauffer), 82, of Oakdale, CT, passed away on 14 in her home after a short battle with cancer. Carolyn was born in Milford, Delaware to Jacob Reiff K. Stauffer and Sara (Seal) Stauffer on 3, 1933. She graduated from South Kingstown High School, Wakefield, RI in 1951 and the University of Rhode Island in 1955. Her first priority was her love and care for her children and family. Children of the Montville area would know her as a former 2nd grade teacher, school teacher, and both a girl scout and cub scout leader but she touched the most children through her years at Raymond Library as a librarian and story hour teacher. Carolyns favorite were gardening outdoors, doing puzzles, talking with family and friends, and enjoying the company of her cat. Carolyn is survived by three sons, Richard (Patricia) Lafleur, Reiff (Teresa) Lafleur, and Robert Lafleur, one daughter, Rochelle (Court) Rossman, and her beloved grandchildren, Amy, Benjamin, Elizabeth, Stephen, and Mikayla. She is survived by a sister, Mitzi (William) Gates, and many nieces and nephews. Carolyn is predeceased by her husband, Richard A. Lafleur, parents, two sisters Maxine Rettew and Sara Whaley and her young grandson, Alexander Rossman. Montville of Church and Allen, Uncasville, CT will be handling the funeral arrangements. Visitation will be held on 7th at 10 AM with a memorial service to follow at 11 AM. A 2 PM Burial will follow at New Fernwood , 3120 Kingstown Rd., Kingston, RI. Obituary: Carolyn LaFleche Waterford- Carolyn K. (Stannard) LaFleche, 86, of Waterford, died peacefully at home in the comfort of her family on , 3, 2015. She was predeceased by her son Paul Faria and her husband Armand LaFleche. She was born in Cambridge, New York to the late Phillip and Retha Stannard. She was known for her fun-loving zest for life, long lasting friendships, and especially as a loving, caring mother. She was adventuresome; white water rafting at age 64 and skydiving on her 74th birthday. Carolyn also walked five miles a day on the boardwalk and through the streets of Niantic. She set a positive example of fitness and an energetic attitude towards life. Admired by many people who would say, I want to be like her at that age. She will be dearly missed and a hard act to follow. While raising her six children she actively volunteered for many useful causes. She retired from the Correctional Institution for Women in 1989. She is survived by her son John Faria of Durham; daughters Susan Faria of East Sandwich, MA, Nancy Faria of Waterford, CT, Diane Faria of St. Petersburg, FL, Gail Faria of Fort Myers, FL; grandchildren Ryan and Ashley Smith of Mendon, VT; great grandchildren Sierra Rapoport and Ayden Smith of Mendon, VT; sister Mary Field of Oneonta, NY. Carolyns children would especially like to thank the for Hospice for their loving and kind care given to their mother. Visiting hours will be held from 9 to 11 AM on at the Thomas L. Neilan & Sons East Lyme , 48 Grand St., Niantic, followed by a funeral service at 11 AM at the funeral home. Interment will follow in St. Mary .
