Obituary: Rose Mary Leasure Oct. 6, 1935 - Aug. 13, 2010 Rose Mary Leasure, age 74, was born in Penrose, Colorado, and passed away 13, 2010 at Cheyenne Mountain and Rehabilitation . Rose Mary is survived by her husband, Bill of 50 years. She is also survived by her older sister Victoria Jones of Rockford, Illinois, a younger brother, Nick Avila, of Pueblo, Colorado, and many other relatives and friends. Rose Mary is preceded in death by both her parents and a sister, Effie Avila of Florence, Colorado. Rose Mary loved to go to Cripple Creek to play at the quarter slots and to see lots of friends and especially Liz. She loved all types of music, especially country. Obituary: Doreen Leasure passed away on 27, 2015 unexpectedly. Doreen is survived by her son, Wade (Jennifer) her daughter Trish (Mitch) and 4 grandchildren, Amy, Kaitlyn, Austin and Brandin. Doreen was born and raised in North Dakota. She moved to Colorado after graduating from college to begin her teaching career. Shortly after moving to Colorado, she met her husband Don, and was married for 48 years. When her children were born, Doreen put her teaching career on hold to be a perfect stay at home mom. Once her kids were in college, she resumed her teaching career with the same relentless energy she raised her kids with. Doreen retired from teaching in 2002 but didn slow down. Her desire to humbly love, serve and help others was on full display after retirement. She never desired to be the center of attention and took joy in helping others. She tirelessly cared for her husband during his poor health yet remained devoted to spending high quality time with each grandchild. Over the years, an unbreakable bond developed between the kids and their grandma. Her influence in their lives will continue even though she is gone. While caring for her family was important, her relationship with Jesus was her priority. She spent much of her free time at Bethlehem Lutheran Church and loved serving on the Altar Guild, leading Lifelight Bible study and helping at the Table service on evenings. Doreen humbly served, loved and helped others her entire life and set a great example of good Christian living. She will be missed but her influence will live on. Obituary: When beloved Carma Jean went to be with Jesus on 31, 2012, Irwin was probably waiting on the front porch of heaven, calling out, Mother, let me tell you about this place. And even now, he is probably talking her ear off while she listens patiently with a slight smile on her face, sitting in the sun beside him, while occasionally getting up to check her flowers and inspect the quality of her yard which is undoubtedly the highlight of their heavenly abode. Born to Harry and Ruth Abell in Linneus, Missouri, in 1922, Jean is survived by her children Carol Wichman, Richard Leasure, Ron Leasure, and Mark Leasure, their spouses, fourteen grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren. She was part of the last graduating class of Colorado Springs High School in 1940, and maintained a close personal relationship with a group of peers from the Palmer Alumni. She married her dear Irwin Harrison Leasure on 15, 1943, and thoroughly enjoyed, as her kids, grandkids, and great grandkids grew up, watching them play sports, dance, and on the whole, simply light up her life, as they continued to do until the very end. Jeans hobbies included gardening, bowling, watching baseball with Irwin at all different venues and on television, and lunch with friends, along with her charitable donations to the Salvation Army and St. Judes Childrens Hospital. Without a doubt, Jeans sincere generosity was one of the finest features she possessed, along with her gracious smile, sparkling blue eyes, and ready laugh as she took care of her family and all those around her. Jean, thank you for being you: for your kindness, love, and care for all of us. We miss you, are thinking of you, and we send you the best. We are sure Dad loves that you e with him again; if everyone had a wife and mother like you the world would be a much better place. Rest in peace. Obituary: Edward Page Leasburg - May 1, 1937 - 8, 2015 Ed was born in Clarksburg, WV, to Henry and Catherine Leasburg. He had a happy childhood growing up with his beloved parents and brothers and sisters, in the small town of Nutter Fort, WV. He graduated from Roosevelt Wilson High School in 1955. During that time he worked at Pittsburgh Plate and Hazel Atlas glass factories. In 1956 he married his first wife, Carolyn (Spelsberg) Shiben. had two sons, Thomas and David. Ed left WV in 1961 to join the Metropolitan Police Department in Washington, DC. In Dec. 1961, he was drafted into the Army during the Berlin and Cuban crisis's, and was stationed at Fort Carson, CO, with the 5th Military Police . While stationed in Colorado Springs, he met Donna (Shaw) Axelson. being discharged from the Army in Dec. 1963, Ed returned to the D.C. Police Department. He and Donna were then married on Jan.11, 1964, in Washington, D.C. recently celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary, and Ed will always be the love of her life. lived in Arlington and Annandale VA, until Ed was retired, then moved to Colorado Springs, CO. During the years there, Ed worked at various places, including managing a lighting center, and then did maintenance and custom carpentry at the Olympic Training for 2 years. Over the years, they lived in both Colorado Springs and Clarksburg and Philippi WV. Ed was a special person in many ways. He was kindhearted, and enjoyed his friends and neighbors, and was always willing to help out when needed. He loved and appreciated nature, especially when he could spend time in the beautiful 'hills' of West Virginia, and the rugged Colorado mountains. He enjoyed hunting and fishing since being a young boy with his dad and brothers...along with gardening, reading, music, and watching the Denver Broncos and West Virginia Mountaineers football. Ed was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Kenneth, and nephew Scotty. He is survived by his loving wife, Donna; sons Brian(Julie) Leasburg,,Atascadaro,CA; Tom(Julie)Shiben,Winchester,VA; David(Ana)Shiben,MD;.
