Obituary: Hoyun Lim was born on 12, 1933 in Andong, South Korea. On 16, 2016, she passed away in Seattle, Washington at the age of 82. She and her husband, Soki, met while teaching at the same school and married in 1956. In 1977, they immigrated to Los Angeles with their two children, ultimately settling in Bothell, Washington in 1979. Hoyun loved to sing and play games with her friends and family and also enjoyed outdoor activities such as foraging for fiddlehead ferns and fishing for squid. She helped raise her two loving grandsons and was always there to make them oatmeal or cook them omelettes. Hoyun was preceded in death by her husband, Soki; sister, Sooryun; and brother, Choongil. She is survived by her sons, Hochul (and his wife, Hyungsook) and Hojin (and his wife, Sangmi); and grandchildren, Benjamin (and his wife, Leocadie) and James. She also leaves behind three siblings: brothers, Youngho and Sooho; and sister, Kumryun. |
