Obituary: Linda Joyce Lighty, 70, passed away 15, 2015 in Yakima, Washington. Linda was born in Wichita, Kansas on 2, 1945 to Roy and Pearl (Bangerter) Bartles. Linda was raised in Wichita, Kansas where she graduated from East High School. She married Gary Lighty and they had two children before moving to Yakima in 1976 and later divorcing. She also lived in Las Vegas and Boulder City, Nevada. She returned to Yakima in 2012. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, as well as her dog. She worked as a legal assistant for all of her adult life, most recently for Abeyta Nelson Injury Law, where she worked on wildland fire cases. Linda had a special way of making clients feel appreciated and valued. She was a compassionate and caring person who will be forever missed. Linda is survived by her loving children, Greg (Cathy) Lighty of Yakima, WA; and Kimberly Lighty of Boulder City, Nevada; and her grandchildren, Ty Lighty and Calleigh Lighty, both of Yakima, WA. She was preceded in death by her parents. A memorial service will be held at Langevin El Paraiso at 1010 West Yakima Avenue, Yakima, WA 98902, on , 23, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for donations to be made to the American Cancer Society or Yakima Humane Society c/o Langevin El Paraiso . Obituary: Gary Edgar Lighty, 68, passed away 14, 2012 in Olympia, Washington. Gary was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on 9, 1943 to Ivan and Nadine (Wilson) Lighty. Gary grew up in Wichita, Kansas where he graduated from East High School and was a member of the tennis team. He moved to Yakima in 1975 and later lived in Anchorage, Alaska and Olympia. He enjoyed playing and watching sports, especially golf. Gary started his career in finance, transitioned to the car business, and eventually became owner of his own car dealership, Garys Car . He loved trips to Mexico, especially Cabo San Lucas where he married his wife, Joan. Gary loved his grandchildren and is praised for being a wonderful grandpa. Gary is survived by his loving wife, Joan Lighty of Olympia, WA; his son, Greg (Cathy) Lighty of Yakima, WA; his daughter, Kimberly (James) Lighty of Boulder City, Nevada; brother, Max (Judy) Lighty of Overland Park, Kansas; sister, Carol Jack of Spring Hill, Tennessee and his grandchildren, Ty Lighty and Calleigh Lighty, both of Yakima, Washington. He was preceded in death by his parents. Obituary: Susan Arlene Lighthall Susan ended her journey here on Earth on May 9, 2015 at Cottage in the Meadow after a long struggle with COPD. She was born on 24, 1950 to Bob and Florence Deal in Spokane, WA. Susan lived in many places growing up as her father was an educator and administrator in the public school system and often relocated as opportunities came up. settling in Yakima, she met and married Albert Cuyer Lighthall Jr. had three children; Christopher, Mathew and Amy. For much of her life, Susan was a stay at home mom. It was her calling. Susan was a true mothers mother, not just to her children, but to any child who entered her home. her kids had grown enough for her to work again, she spent several years at Keith & Keith before venturing into business, operating The Flower Garden. Professionally speaking, this was the ideal job for Susan. She loved planting and caring for flowers. She really enjoyed making peoples lives just a bit more beautiful with flowers. Many friends were made and kept during her 10 years at the shop. When her illness progressed to the point where she could not work outdoors in the heat around the dirt, she still loved to watch the flowers that her friends and family planted around her house grow. Family was Susans one true calling. There was never a holiday too small, or a birthday too unimportant for her to recognize with decorations, or baked goods and gifts. She was an excellent cook, and took great pride in preparing meals for her family. Susan never asked for a lot from her family and gave of herself tirelessly and continuously. She loved her children and grandchildren with every fiber of her being. We were all blessed to have such an unconditionally loving mother and Grammy. Susan was preceded in death by both of her parents. Susan is survived by her children, Chris Lighthall, Mathew Lighthall, Amy Serrano (Lighthall), her husband Tony Serrano A.C. Lighthall III, his wife Katie Lighthall and all of the ever growing grandchildren: Aaron, Hunter, Tate, Parker Jane, Ayla, Ace, Aris and baby on the way. Susan also is survived by three siblings, Steve Deal, Stuart Deal, and Sandy Horn and her longtime friend and companion Robert Mitchell. There will be a memorial service for Susan at Keith & Keith in Yakima, WA, May 14th at 4:00 PM. To share a memory, visit www.keithandkeith.com. Obituary: Nancy Lee Lightfoot of Kenmore passed away at the age of 81 on 6th, 2014. Nancy was born on 16th, 1932 in Vancouver, WA to Raymond and Cherie (Sutton) Forrest. She grew up participating in the Girl Scouts and spending afternoons flying with her father in his Piper Cub. Nancy graduated from Bend High School (Bend OR) in 1950; and attended Oregon State University before moving to Seattle. On 26th 1953 Nancy married Harry Hap Lightfoot Jr, and 12 years later had a son, Barry. enjoyed many wonderful memories out on their boat NANCHAR, exploring the Hood Canal, Puget Sound and the Canadian San Juan Islands. In 1978, Nancy took up skiing after a 25 year layoff and soon began working as a ski instructor for children with disabilities. She enjoyed many family vacations in the mountains skiing. Nancy began her working career as a Legal Transcriber, and from 1989 until her retirement in 2004, she proudly worked as a Mediator for the King Superior Courts in family services helping with adoptions. Nancy was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, H. L. Hap" Lightfoot; and her parents; Raymond and Cherie Forrest and Brother Ray. She is survived by her son, Barry Lightfoot. under the direction of Acacia Memorial Park & , Seattle, Washington. |
