Obituary: James Ray Lien passed away 12, 2015 from a brain hemorrhage. Jim was born 12, 1946 to Erwin & Gertrude Lien in Stanley, North Dakota. Jim grew up on a farm near New Town, North Dakota. Following graduation from high school, Jim worked in the oil fields of ND and at Rensch Chevrolet in New Town as a Parts Man. Jim married Ellen Foreman in 1970. The marriage ended in 1972. Jim worked many years in the drywall business, starting his own business, Textures Plus, in the early 1990s, which he operated until his retirement. Jim enjoyed his family, many close friends and his yearly trips to Hawaii. Jim loved regular brunches with his friends at Jakes Restaurant. Jim loved to tell stories, but no one knew what to believe because the story would change every time he told it. Jim loved politics and arguing about politics. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Eldo, Gary, and Gale, sister-in-law, Eileen, and niece, Kari Lien-Erdwins. Jim is survived by two brothers, David (Sharon) Lien and Thomas (Connie) Lien, six nephews, three nieces and his special friends, Floyd, Jay, Larry, John, Paul, Lonnie, Rex, Thom, Lane, Kevin, Mike, Justin, Rose, Teresa, Stephanie, and Donna. Thank you to the people at Legacy Vancouver and Kaiser Sunnyside for their care and considerations for Jim. Evergreen Memorial Gardens are handling arrangements. Please sign the online guest book. A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00pm, 26, 2015 at Jakes Restaurant & Grill, 4602 NE St Johns Rd, Vancouver, WA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Clark Food Bank at www.clarkcountyfoodbank.org or Humane Society for Southwest WA at https://southwesthumane.org. |
