Obituary: CJ Lemmon passed away peacefully in his sleep on 2, 2017. He is survived by his wife Donna and two daughters, Brianna and Vanessa. A Celebration of CJ's Life will be held on , 20 at 11 am at Greenwood in Renton. A reception with light luncheon will follow. Military Honors at Tahoma National will take place at 2:30 pm. CJ was born and raised in Anaconda, Montana when Tootsie Rolls were only a nickel and the latest Hardy Boys book was forty cents (four weeks allowance). In 1962, CJ joined the United States Army and was stationed in Korea for 18 months. serving in the Vietnam war for a brief period, he was honorably discharged and moved back to Montana. He studied math and industrial arts at both Montana State University and the University of Montana, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree from the latter. During this time, CJ got into comedy and theater. He would work during the day and act at night. He played a wide array of characters, including an English obby police officer, a Mexican bandit, and Superman. Offstage, he and a few fellow actors would dress up in their superhero costumes and spend time at the Childrens Hospital flying from room to room, entertaining the young patients. His talents did not stop there. CJ played drums professionally on and off between 1966 and 1970, touring the Northwest with various artists, including Charlie Pride, Buck Owens, and Waylon Jennings. He also played guitar and loved to sing. In 1970, he moved to Seattle and enrolled in a printing school. receiving a lithography certificate, and working in a press for two months, he decided it wasn the right job for him and started studying electronics at North Seattle Community . It was there that he received three more degrees: Associates Degrees in Digital Electronics, Communications Electronics, and Medical Electronics. He worked in electronic service and repair until he secured a job teaching at North Seattle Community . In 1983, he married Donna Jean Cairney and they moved to Renton, where he began his 23 year career teaching math and electronics at Renton Technical . In 2000, he started working for the Puget Sound Electrical Joint Apprenticeship Training Committee, teaching night classes. five years, he was offered a full-time position, which he happily accepted. CJ was an extremely gifted instructor and was highly respected by both students and colleagues. He was very dedicated to his work and spent much of his personal time studying. In his free time, CJ enjoyed watching football, playing Backgammon and Cribbage, and spending time with his family. He loved wine and spent many summer seasons making his own from various fruits, including grapes he grew in his backyard. Despite all his talents and successes, CJ always said his greatest accomplishment was marrying Donna. On 7, they celebrated their 33rd wedding anniversary. He was a devoted husband and father. His family came first and he made sure that his wife and two daughters were always well provided for. CJ touched many lives and was an inspiring individual. He had a fun-loving, playful presence that always included a joke or a funny story. He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten. We love you, Dad.
