Obituary: JOHN JOSEPH LEMIEUX Born: 7, 1921 Died: 18, 2010 John was born and raised in Yakima, Washington. He graduated from the University of Washington (in Chemical Engineering) and served in the US Navy 4 years as LT, a veteran of WW II. John was employed by Reichhold Chemical as Vice President and General Manager of the NW Division. He was a long time member of Meydenbauer Bay Yacht Club and Woodhaven Country Club in Palm Desert CA. John is survived by his wife, Margarett (Mickey); children: Karen Lemieux, Sharon Armstrong (John), Kristine Lemieux, Vernon Smith (Dani), and Catherine Carlson (Steve), and by grandchildren, Matthew, Aimee, Ashley, Annie, Ali, Katie, Carter, Terynia, Llysa, and great grandchildren: Joshua, and Ellison. He is also survived by sisters, Mrs. Maxwell Carter, (Mary), Mrs. John Doherty, (Lois), and Mrs. Bayard Descamp, (Jean) deceased. John and Mickey were residents of Medina before moving to Port Ludlow where they resided, spending half their time in Palm Desert. His interests included boating, golfing, and gardening. He was a devout Catholic. The remaining years of his life he and his wife Mickey resided at Timber Ridge in Issaquah, Washington. Everyone that knew him truly loved him. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St Joseph Catholic Church in Issaquah on , 26 at 10:00 a.m. Condolences may be made to www.sunsethillsfuneralhome.com. |

Obituary: LeMieux, USAF Ret. Col. Clarence A. (Age 92) Born 24, 1916 to Joseph P. and Anna LeMieux in Virginia, Minnesota. He was the oldest of three boys. The family moved to Clayton, Washington when he was young. Clarence graduated from Lewis and Clark High School in 1934. He joined the Army in 1935 when the Army Air Corp, which later became the Air Force, just started. This was the beginning of a long and distinguished military career. Clarence trained in the western United States to be a flight engineer. In California he met and married his wife, Ann. He and his crew flew in and landed in Hawaii shortly after the attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941, witnessing the devastation. Later, on a bombing run to Rabaul, his B-17 ran low on fuel from evading enemy planes. The ten man crew landed on what they thought was a grassy field, but it was actually a swamp. All survived and it took 3 days for them to walk out. He completed 21 combat missions in all. He came back to the states - working in California, Texas, South Dakota, and Florida until the war was over. Clarence was then sent to Guam, the Philippines and Puerto Rico to oversee various maintenance operations. He spent 30 years in the military and 10 in the reserves, retiring a Colonel. He retired in San Antonio, TX and then moved to Spokane, WA after the passing of his wife. Clarence passed away on 17, 2009 in Spokane, Washington of natural causes. He was preceded in death by his wife, (Margaret) Ann LeMieux in 1999; brothers, Joseph W. and William E. LeMieux. Survivors include his sister-in-law, Jean LeMieux; nieces, Janice Kaler (Claude), Marla Vanos and JoAnn Cooper (Gary), all of Spokane, Delores Martin (Jackie) of Stilwell, Oklahoma; nephew, Jim LeMieux (Shelley), of Spokane; and many cousins, great-nieces and great-nephews. The family wishes to thank all those involved with his care in the last weeks of his life. A memorial service will be held at 10:00am, , 9, 2009 at Ball & Dodd .
