Obituary: Daniel S. Lacewell Sr. (78) passed away at home on 10th, 2016. Daniel was born in Austin, Tx, to Franklin Bryant and Annie Lou Lacewell on 11th, 1937. He married Perna McCown in of 1957. While he is originally from Austin, Tx, Daniel spent 20 years traveling the world with the United States Navy before settling back down in Austin after his wife's death and his retirement from the Navy in 1974. He moved to Wylie, Tx in 2007 before moving to Oak Harbor, Wa, in 2015 to live with his son, Daniel Lacewell Jr. Daniel Lacewell Sr. graduated from William B. Travis High School in Austin, Tx in 1955, joined the Navy, participated in Vietnam and retired from the Navy in of 1974. He then earned a BBA from St. Edwards University in 1980. He remained busy working various jobs before becoming an Enrolled Agent and class instructor at H&R Block for 16 years. He was an active member of Fairview Church of Christ in Austin, Tx; Wylie Church of Christ in Wylie, Tx; and Oak Harbor Church of Christ. He was also a member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. When he wasn't busy, he enjoyed watching baseball and football, and reading. Daniel is preceded in death by his parents, Franklin Bryant and Annie Lou Lacewell; his wife Perna Lacewell; and his brothers, Larry Lacewell and Tommy Lacewell. He leaves behind a sister, Betty Whaley of Denver, Co; his children, Debra Henderson of Amarillo, Tx; and Daniel Lacewell Jr. of Oak Harbor; his grandchildren, Brenda Cowan, Chad Henderson and Penny Garman, all of Amarillo, Tx; Danielle Lacewell of Oak Harbor, Wa, Jaidon Lacewell of Garland, Tx; Brian Quisenberry of Austin, Tx; Jacob Quisenberry of Nellis AFB; Victoria Quisenberry of Oak Harbor, Wa; and his great-grandchildren, Josh Lowry, Mason Henderson, Teagan Lowry, Travis Henderson, Kaiden Garman, Desiree Garman, Ryan Henderson, Xander Henderson and Brett Henderson, all of Amarillo, Tx. Graveside Services will be held at Austin Memorial Park , 23 at 11:00 am. |
