Obituary: Revia Carol Smith Layne, 68, of Lynchburg passed away , 25, 2015, at Liberty Ridge and Rehabilitation. She was the wife of the late Edward Lee Layne. Born 14, 1946, in Grundy, she was the daughter of the late Clayton Harding Smith and the late Vista Payne Smith. Revia was a retired self-employed caretaker and a member of Tree of Life Ministries. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, sister and grandmother. In addition to her husband and parents, Revia was preceded in death by one brother, Bobby Smith. Revia is survived by her two sons, Scott Fletcher and his wife Michele of Lynchburg and Tony Layne of Lynchburg; two stepdaughters, Joan Hudson and her husband Bobby of Amherst and Patricia Carwile and her husband M.E. of Rustburg; one sister, Sue Cooper and husband Bobby of Ridgeway; two special sisters-in-law, Polly Smith of Lynchburg and Thelma Roakes and her husband Clark, also of Lynchburg; one grandson, Collyn T. Fletcher; and several step-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be conducted, 11:00 a.m., , 29, 2015 at Fort Hill Memorial Park with Pastor J. Mike Dodson officiating. Michael was a Product manager with American Hofmann and a longtime local musician. In addition to his mother, Michael is survived by his daughter, Jaime Marie Layne of Lynchburg; two sisters, Peggy L. Eagle (Preston) and Leslie S. Layne (David Tucker); a brother, Dennis Layne (Robin) and numerous nieces and nephews. Michael also leaves to cherish his memory, his significant other, Judi J. Henry of Moneta. Obituary: Mary Lee Brumfield Layne, 96 formally of Fishersville passed away , 15, 2015 at the Legacy at North a in Staunton. She was born 22, 1918 in Princeton, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Henry David Brumfield and Dale Belcher Brumfield. Mary Lee was a lifelong member of First Christian Church of Waynesboro, where she taught school for 48 years and sang in the choir. In addition to spending time with her family, Mary Lee enjoyed needlepoint, crochet, canning, her flowers, reading, and traveling. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, James R. Bob Layne; two brothers, H.D. and James Brumfield; a sister, Betty Straughen. Survivors include her three sons and their wives, Gerry and Ann Layne, David and Carolyn Layne both of Waynesboro, and Jim and Teresa Layne of Fishersville; seven grandchildren, Vonda Tabor, Breeta Heizer, Tim Layne, Tammy Layne, Rob Layne, Amanda Layne, and Eric Layne; ten great grandchildren, Drew and Lauren Tabor, Cassie Stewart, Finn and Tai Layne, Karlee and Rylee Layne, Bryce and Brooke Heizer, and Desmond Layne; a sister, Demmie B. Layne, a special sister-in-law, Polly Brumfield; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 am, , 18, 2015 at Reynolds Hamrick s, Waynesboro Chapel with Rev. Obituary: Kenneth Monroe Layne, 83, of Lynchburg and formerly of Madison Heights, passed away on , 20, 2017 at the University of Virginia Medical . Born on 11, 1934 in Madison Heights, he was the son of the late Charles Wesley Layne and Hazel Lucille Wright Layne. Kenneth served our country in the United States Army during Korea. He retired from the Lynchburg Foundry and was a member of Amelon United Methodist Church. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a daughter, Lisa L. Stanley and two brothers, Charles Layne and Carlton Layne. He is survived by his son, Michael Layne of Glen Allen and two grandchildren, Adam Stanley and Brandon Stanley.
