Obituary: Martha Lyons, age 90, went to be with the Lord on , 27, 2007, joining her husband, Howard and daughter, Kay who preceded her in death. She had just celebrated her 90th birthday where family and friends were able to express their gratitude and love for her life of being an encourager. Martha, born in Barttesville, OK, spent part of her young adult life working for Phillps Petroleum. She married Howard Lyons, a junior executive with Phillips, in 1938. Howard felt called into the ministry, so the young family moved to Abilene, TX to enter Hardin Simmons University in 1946. Martha was a role model of a pastorÂs wife for 40 years and loving, cherished mother to her son, Tommy and daughter, Kay. She was a state officer in WomenÂs Missionary Union, a School teacher and hostess for thousands of meals to church friends, family and those who needed a listening ear. She sang in various church choirs all of her adult life. She is survived by her son, Tommy Lyons, Minister of Music at Northeast Baptist Church and wife, Charlotte; grandson, Charlie; niece and husband, Judy and Ivan Koplin; sister-in-law, Wilma Marling; brother-in-law, Bob and Patty Lyons and extended family; Jim and Nina McLain, their children and families; and many, many dearly loved friends. |

Obituary: Marion (Mimi) Lorena Lyons was born 14, 1925 in Chicago, IL to the late Cyrus & Julia Wood. She passed away after battling cancer on 17, 2011 in Austin, TX. Marion was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph B. Lyons Sr.; step-son, Robert J. Lyons; and brothers, Douglas and Robert Wood. She is survived by her children, Paul Lyons and wife Vera of Pecos, NM, Joe Lyons Jr. and wife Dawn of Hallsville, TX, Linda Lyons Dehan and husband Dr. Chris Dehan of Austin, TX, Julie Lyons Lawrence and husband Charlie of McKinney, TX, and Sharon Lyons Stiles and husband Joe of Owatonna, MN; 24 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; sister, Vivian Donahoe and husband John of Fairfield, CA; godchild, Patrice Donahoe of Pleasanton, CA; and many much loved nieces and nephews. Marion was a devoted wife and the best mother in the world. She raised 6 children and is responsible for bringing her family to our Savior and instilling them with the Holy Spirit. She was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church in Dallas for over 60 years. Marion served the church in many ways including: Co-Leader of the Charismatic Prayer Group for over 20 years, member of the Spiritual Life , serving as Eucharistic Minister, member of Hearts of Praise Ensemble, and she was involved in the Charismatic Renewal since 1972. She also worked as an Assistant to the Superintendant of Highland Park School District for many years. Marion brought unspeakable joy to those she knew and she was very compassionate and giving to so many. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM with recitation of the Rosary at 7 PM, , 20, 2011 at Sparkman/Crane in Dallas. The Mass will be celebrated 11 AM, , 21, 2011 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 3030 Gus Thomasson Rd. Dallas 75218. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Dallas. |

Educated in Ontario, she lived in Montreal and Toronto before moving to San Antonio with her husband and three young children, where she had her fourth child, and lived as a wife and mother all her life.
