Burial will follow at the Floyd Memorial Park in Floydada. Visitation will be 6:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m., , 18, 2014 at Moore-Rose in Floydada. are under the care of Moore-Rose in Floydada. She was born 23, 1924 to the late Tom and Pearl Britton. She was a lifelong resident of Floyd . She married Olen Dutch Lyles on 6, 1944 in Floydada, Texas. Olens military service, Jo and Olen moved to the Baker community where they farmed and raised their family. She was an active member of the Floyd Pioneer Association and a lifelong member and servant of the First United Methodist Church in Floydada. Jo enjoyed quilting, was a member of the 1934 Study Club, served as Meal Coordinator for the church, and faithfully attended bible study. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, a brother, Jack Britton, and a sister Dessie Rainer. Survivors include her children, Tommy Lyles and wife Sallye Lyles, Gary Dale Lyles, and Lori Jo Ross and husband Tom all of Floydada, 3 grandchildren, Jeffrey Lyles and wife Amber, of Waskom, Texas, Jeremy Lloyd, of Austin, Texas and Tana Lloyd of Lubbock, Texas, and numerous nieces and nephews. Obituary: Tommie Elizabeth (Hancock) Lyles, 88, of Lufkin, was born 7, 1922 in Garrison, Texas, the daughter of the late Ada (Long) and Andrew Vetchel Hancock. She passed away , 27, 2011 in a Lufkin hospital. Mrs. Lyles was a homemaker. She was loved by many friends and relatives and returned that love whole-heartedly. She was always happy and possessed a rare innocence. She loved gardening (she had a green thumb), cooking (especially pastries) , crocheting afghans, and oil painting. Mrs. Lyles was very spiritual and was of the Baptist Faith. Survivors include her nieces and their husbands, Candis and Ed Sikes of Austin and Stacie and Rex Hodges of Wells; nephew and his wife, Sheldon and Janet Sloan of California; great-nieces and nephews, Vicki, Taffy, Luke, Debbie and Donna; also a number of great-great nieces and nephews, other family members and friends who helped care for her. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Lyles was preceded in death by her husband, Nute Lyles (she married him on 18, 1957; he passed away on 18, 2001); and sister, Mildred Dugger. Graveside services for Mrs. Lyles will be held at 11:00 a.m. in the Cold Springs in Garrison, with Bro. Gary York officiating. Obituary: Thomas Edward Lyles, Sr. Pap, 84, of Huntsville, Texas, passed away 12, 2017. He was born to Thomas and Thelma Lyles in Houston, Texas on 11, 1932. He was married to Dorothy A. Lyles for 63 years. Thomas was a life-long Texan, served in the U.S Air Force during the Korean War, and spent most of his life in the heating and air conditioning business working on residential units all the way to high-rise buildings, hospitals and schools. He took great pride in his work and was utilized as a consultant on many jobs because of his expertise. In his younger days he enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, serving in the Boy Scouts Troop 147 and cooking BBQ. He loved his church family and participated actively in Pasadena Boulevard and Golden Acres United Methodist churches. He took great pride in his family and they could never visit him enough! Thomas is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas (Buck) Lyles and Thelma Antwright Lyles Rogers; step-mother, Ruby Larsen Lyles; brothers, Jimmy Rogers and Pete Larsen; sister, Bobbie Hanson; and grandson Ryan Dewan. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy A. Lyles; sons, Thomas E. Lyles Jr. and wife Debbie, and Rahul N. Obituary: Ruby Lorene Lyles born 13, 1920, died 21, 2002 at the age of 82. She was a very dedicated and faithful member of Alamo Heights Christian Church, where she had served in many capacities including that of Deacon. Mrs. Lyles retired from Sears Tire as assistant to the manger after 28 years. As a long time activist in the Republican Party for over 30 years, she had worked as Election Judge, Precinct Chairman and many other offices. Her political talents and hard work were rewarded when she was elected a delegate to the National GOP Convention in 1976. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Marilyn and sister, Jean Green. She is survived by her sons, Leslie R. Lyles and wife, Connie, Richard D. Lyles; grandsons, Jeffrey, Richard D. Obituary: Joyce was born to Theodore and Thelma Lorenz on 24, 1934 in Waco, Texas. Joyce grew up in the Waco area and graduated from Midway High School in 1952. She married Ruel Eric Owen Erwin, Jr. on 10, 1953 in Waco, Texas. Ruel and Joyce had two children, Eric and Elise. Ruel took a job as a high school coach, he and Joyce moved to Geronimo, Texas in 1971. Shortly after their arrival, Ruel was tragically killed in 1971. Several years later Joyce married James Lindy Lindon Lyles on 17, 1974. Joyce and Lindy had one son, James Jay Lindon Lyles, Jr. Lindy passed away in May 1999. Lindys death, Joyce continued to live in the Geronimo area until 2004 when she moved back to Waco. She was a longtime member of Friedens United Church of Christ. Joyce will always be remembered for her love of sports and competition. She was a fierce competitor on and off the court. Throughout her life, Joyce was an avid sports fan, and she, especially, loved the Texas Longhorns. Family and friends will always remember Joyces stylish windsuits and matching reebok tennis shoes. Her burnt orange windsuit was by far her favorite. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Theodore and Thelma Lorenz, her husbands, Ruel Erwin and Lindy Lyles, and two sisters Jaqueline Lorenz McClinton and Olivia Libby Lorenz. She is survived by her three children, Eric Erwin and wife Carla of Wellman, Texas, her daughter Elise Golden and husband Bill of Lucas, Texas, and her son, Jay Lyles and wife Bobbie of Satin Texas. She is also survived by one brother, Ted Lorenz and wife Sandra of Covington, Louisiana, two sisters, Theo Pilot and husband Alan of Waco, Texas and Alta Powers and husband Benny of Valley Mills, Texas, five grandchildren, Kelli, Keri, Kati, Mason, and Cory, six great grandchildren, Zaccary, Kateleigh, Delaney, Addison, Ian, and Keller, and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation for Joyce will be evening, 12, 2016 from 6:00P.M. to 8:00P.M at Goetz in Seguin, Texas. A graveside service will be held at the Geronimo Lone Oak on , 13, 2016 at 10:30A.M.
