Obituary: Jeanne A. Lummus was born in Pottsburough, Texas to William George Lindsey Mattheuss and Mary Virginia Jones on 6, 1921. She passed away on 27, 2017 at the age of 96. Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Gertrude, Florene and Jessie; her brothers, Willard and Jamie; two husbands, Earl Goss and William E. Lummus; and daughter, Gayle Carlton. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Greg Perry; son-in-law, Preston Carlton; brothers-in-law, Tommy Blake and Walter Martin; two nephews, Byron Reno and Gerald Reno; and niece, Donna Bomer; and son, Michael Lummus and his wife Karen. She is also survived by her grandchildren and their partners, Dylan Perry and George Romfh, Saia Perry and John Campbell, Mylinda and Bob Dalrymple, Matthew and Tami Carlton; her great-grandchildren, Tesla Perry, Chisholm, Kaitlyn, Bryn Rose, and Killion Dalrymple, and Cassandra, Benjamin, and Jackson Carlton. Grandma was born when Warren G. Harding was president, one year after women won the right to vote. She rode a horse to school, played with Native Americans in Oklahoma, saw man walk on the moon and remembered when Interstate 35 was a dirt road. Jeanne was more than a grandmother; she was a mother to us all. Though she was a seamstress by trade, she made more than clothes; she made our holidays and our lives better. Grandma held herself to a high moral standard and lived by example, never turning away someone in need. Always incredibly fair, she gave everything and everyone a chance and would try anything at least once. Blindness never stopped her. She dressed immaculately and never left the house without a smile and a manicure. She was an antique little girl with a young heart, who had no problem calling other people old. She was unconditional love. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., , 31, 2017, at the Cook-Walden/Capital Parks in Pflugerville. services will be at 3:30 pm, , 1, 2017 in the Memorial Chapel of the funeral home. Obituary: DENISON- Faye Crowell Lummus, age 92 entered into eternal life on 13, 2014. A celebration of her life will be , 17, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. at Waples Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev. Roy Spore officiating. Family visitation will be prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. in the Waples Parlor. Burial will follow the service at Cedarlawn Memorial Park, Sherman, Texas. Pallbearers will be Zarrence Whitfield, Steve Avila, Mike Johnson, Christopher Johnson and Kyle Neely. She was born on May 29, 1922 in Wolfe City, Texas to Paul and Bessie Crowell. She married A.D. Lummus on 18, 1960 blending their two families. A.D. preceded her in death on 17, 1992. Mrs. Lummus was a long time member of Waples Methodist Church, the Criterion School Class, and the United Methodist Women. She is survived by her children: Don and Marilyn Lummus of Chapel Hill, North Carolina, Ann and Sam Johnson of DeBerry, Texas, Chuck and Shirley Lummus of Sun City, Arizona, Jerry Lummus and Linda Bailey of Houston, Texas, Dorothy and Gary Hale and Judy and David Jeter of Denison, also her sister, Betty and husband Mead Owens of Denison, 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Paul and Bessie Crowell, her husband A.D. Lummus, infant daughter Lori Lynn Lummus, her brothers Edward, Clifton and Paul, Jr., and sister Frances Kieschnick. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to Waples Memorial United Methodist Church. |
