Obituary: Anderson Jung-An Lu was born on 5, 1930 in Xiamen, China and passed away on 8, 2015 in Round Rock, Texas at the age of 85. He has gone home to be with the Lord that he served so well here on earth. In 1939, Anderson moved to Beijing with his father Rev. Zhenzhong Lu and mother Luisa Luoyi Huang, and later attended Yu Ying High School. He excelled in music and sports, and had many friends. In 1952, he graduated from Qinghua University with a degree in Electrical Engineering. During his university years he played soccer and clarinet, and was also a band conductor. he graduated, he was assigned to work in Xian, China as an electrical engineer. He married Jane P. Hsu in 1955 in Xian, China. had a daughter and two sons. Anderson grew up in a Christian home under the influence of his parents, but he drifted away from the faith in early adulthood, when he was attracted to the dream of building a new China. In 1978, he took his family to Hong Kong to reunite with his parents, whom he had not seen for 28 years, and began to attend church regularly. In 1983, his family immigrated to the United States and settled in Atlanta, Georgia where he was later baptized. Anderson retired in 1995, he and his wife relocated to Austin, Texas. He was a loving husband to his wife and a devoted father to his children. He was hard working and responsible, winning admiration from his colleagues. He was caring and generous towards his family and friends. He was well traveled during his lifetime and loved to spend time connecting with extended family and friends living in different places around the world. Anderson is survived by his wife of 60 years, Jane P. Lu; his daughter, Elizabeth Zuo; and his sons, Howard Lu and Henry Lu. His memorial service will be held on , 14, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Rock Chinese Church of Austin, 10511 Salt Mill Hollow, Austin, TX 78750. |

Obituary: GRIFFITH LTC Walter R. Griffith, U.S. Air Force Reserves (Ret), born on 19, 1922, in ONeill, Nebraska, passed away on 25, 2012, at the age of 89. graduating from high school in 1940, he entered Kearney State Teachers . He left college in 1942, enlisting in the Air Force at Lackland AFB in San Antonio, where he met and married Sylvia Gawlik, his wife of 65 years. He became a pilot and was stationed in Texas, France and Germany. He left the Air Force and entered Texas A&M, where he received a degree in Agricultural Engineering in 1949. As a result of the Korean conflict, he was recalled into the military and sent to Rhein-Main AFB, Germany. Upon returning from service he joined the Texas Air National Guard, retiring after 22 years of service. During this time, Walter joined City Public Service as an engineer and became head of the gas meter department. Walter was an active member of the Catholic Church. He was a founding member of St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church and St. Matthews Catholic Church. He was involved with Boy Scouts of America, serving as Scoutmaster of Troop 286 (St. Gregorys). Walter was a member of the Professional Engineers of Texas. He was active in the San Antonio A&M Club, where he served several years as the clubs Scholarship Administrator. Walter was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Ruth Griffith and his sister, Opal Calloway. He is survived by his loving wife, Sylvia Gawlik Griffith; brother, Darrel Griffith; his children, Gary L. Griffith and wife Shari; Gregory D. Griffith; and Linda G. Speights. He is also survived by grandchildren, Anna Griffith, Chad Griffith, Michael Marshall, Sarah Speights, Benjamin Griffith, Isabelle Griffith and Bianca Griffith; and great-granddaughter, Keira Griffith. Obituary: LTC Frederick M. Bock, IV, U. S. Army, (Ret.), age 67, passed away on , May 29, 2012 in San Antonio. Fred was born 10, 1945 in Bronxville, New York to Frederick M., and Emily Hazard Bock, III. He moved to California and graduated from Saratoga High School and earned his Eagle Scout. Fred was awarded a Bachelors Degree from the University of California, Berkley where he was a member of the ROTC. He was commissioned an Officer in the U. S. Army on 8, 1971. Fred was assigned to Natick, Massachusetts working in Biomedical Engineering. While stationed there, he was awarded a Masters Degree at the University of New Hampshire. Later assigned to San Antonio, Fred worked at Fort Sam Houston in the Services Command and was awarded a PhD at the University of Texas. his retirement from the Army, he became a Professor at the University of Incarnate Word, School of Business. An avid hiker, Fred also enjoyed cross country skiing. His true enjoyment however, came from his membership in the National Model Railroad Association, where he was honored as Master Railroader. Fred was devoted to his faith as a member of the United Parishes of Natick, Massachusetts and the Episcopal Church of Reconciliation in San Antonio. Upon graduating with an Agricultural Engineering degree from the University of Florida in 1951, he was commissioned into the U.S. Air Force. His tours included assignments in the United States, England, Germany, and Vietnam as a supply and logistics officer. In 1979, he retired at Kelly AFB assigned to Security Service. retirement, he graduated from Trinity University with a building degree and worked in the home/apartment business. Not only was Fred a loving husband, but he was also a devoted father and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Frederick A. Kloeppel, Jr. and sister, Elizabeth Blake. At the age of 16, he joined the Navy and was stationed on the Battleship Indiana in the Pacific until the end of WWII. the war he served on various submarines. He retired in Seal Beach, California, moved to Needles, California then moved to Karnes City, TX where he built his own home, before settling in San Antonio. Charles loved to travel, listen to country music and dance. He was a member of the Hermann Sons square dance club. He was a lifetime member and previously served as Master Mason of the Grand Lodge of Texas located in Kenedy, TX. He was preceded in death by wife, Dorothy and a son, Joseph C. Mashburn. He is survived by his wife, Jane; son, Charles B. Mashburn; granddaughter, Amy Zupan; grandson, Paul Mashburn and 3 great-grandchildren along with his beloved calico cat, Tulie Belle.
