Obituary: George H. Lowther Jr., passed away peacefully on 16 in San Antonio, Texas, surrounded by his family, at the age of 69. George was born on May 2, 1947 in Seattle, Washington. His family moved to Texas when he was very young he learned to swim in Barton Springs in Austin - he didn have any choice, it was over his head. This started his love affair with swimming and the water. He went on to get Red Cross and YMCA Lifesaving badges and eventually became a licensed scuba diver. George was a graduate of Robert E. Lee High School in San Antonio, Texas in 1965. High School, he enlisted in the US Navy and graduated from the US Navy Radioman school in 1966. He proudly served as a radioman on a river boat during the Vietnam War. his tour of duty, George put his advertising skills to good use working at the Northside Recorder and San Antonio Express News. Along the way, he followed his entrepreneurial spirit and owned a security company that specialized in closed circuit television systems and also published a small monthly newspaper for about 6 years. George will be remembered by his family and friends as a man who loved to quote old movies, play practical jokes, go on road trips, and read history. His favorite historical figures were Abraham Lincoln, Theodore Roosevelt, Winston Churchill and Mother Theresa. He is preceded in death by his father, George H. Lowther Sr and sisters Cathy and Emma. George is survived by his sister Bonnie and husband Duane Roberts, son Christopher Nordloh and wife Kate and one grandchild, daughter Meghan and husband Adam Didelot and four grandchildren, daughter Rebecca, and son James and wife Kristin and one grandchild. Memorial Services will be on , 6, 2017 at 11:15 am at Fort Sam Houston National . In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in his name to the Wounded Warrior Project, Texas Veterans Assistance or Veterans organization of your choice. |

Obituary: Bobby Jack Lowther 14, 1930- 8, 2014 Bobby Jack Lowther, 83, of Copperas Cove passed away on , 8, 2014 in Temple. services for Mr. Lowther will be held on , 13, 2014 at 10:00 AM at the Immanual Lutheran Church in Copperas Cove with Pastor Wagner ,Pastor Michalk, and Dr. Vanderland officiating. Burial will follow at the Immanual Lutheran Church . Bobby was born on 14, 1930 in Arkadelphia, Arkansas to Robert and Mary Hart Lowther. He was raised in Buda, Texas and graduated from Buda High School in 1949 where he played fullback on the varsity football team. Bobby was called to duty and joined the Army in 1951, serving in Germany during the Korean war. Mr. Lowther met the love of his life, Verba Lynn Schneider, and they were married on 7, 1957 in Austin, Texas. Bobby moved from Buda to Copperas Cove in 1962, where he and Verba owned and operated BL Food Mart for 21 years . Mr. Lowther also worked as Parks Director for the city of Copperas Cove until his retirement. He was a proud 18 year member of the Copperas Cove School Board, as well as a member of the Jaycees and the Exchange Club. Bobby loved taking cruises with his family, cattle ranching, and especially Bulldawg, Longhorn, and Dallas Cowboys football. He was an elder in the Immanual Lutheran Church in Copperas Cove. Mr. Lowther was preceded in death by his parents, as well as brothers AC Lowther and Charles Clay Lowther. Bobby is survived by his loving wife of nearly 57 years, Verba, his son Mike Clay Lowther and his wife Marian of Seminole, Fl., his sister Betty Jane White of Brenham, Tx. ,and two grandchildren, Amy and Joel Lowther. A visitation for family and friends will be held on evening from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Mr. Lowthers memory to the Immanual Lutheran Church of Copperas Cove, 922 Lutheran Church Rd. Obituary: Bruno Lows passed away May 4, 2011 in Ft. Worth, TX. Born 1, 1928 in Ladysmith, WI. Bruno served in the U. S. Army as a 1st Sergent in an Artillery Co. during the Korean War. Obituary: Wanda Lowry, 87, Colorado City, passed away on , 17, 2016 at the Mitchell and Rehabilitation in Colorado City. She was born on 13, 1928 in Coggin, Iowa to Lewis and Opal Falconeer Robinson. Wanda was a woman whose life goal was caring for others, she was very family oriented, and never shied away from helping others, even if it meant that she would have to give somebody something that she wanted to keep for herself. She was a strong willed and passionate woman, whose life determination kept her going even when things seemed bleak. She was a woman with great artistic vision and a passion for hard work which could be seen in the floral arrangements that she made at Dons Flowers in Lubbock, which she and her husband owned and operated for many years. Wanda was a member of the New Life Ministry Church of Colorado City and a life member of the West Texas-New Mexico Florist Association. In her spare time she enjoyed going out walking, often seen going down the streets with her dog in tote. Wanda is survived by her sons Rex Henderson and wife Retta of Lubbock, their children Jarod Henderson of San Antonio and Amber Parker and husband Matt of Arlington Virginia, and Randy Henderson and his wife Gwen of Colorado City, their children Ty Henderson of Durango Colorado and Tana Gutierrez of Colorado City. Also surviving are 7 great-grandchildren and a sister Beverly Flowers and husband Tim of Miami Texas. She was preceded in death by her husbands Donald E. Henderson and Bill Lowry, and by a brother Donnie Robbinson. A funeral service for Wanda will be held at the New Life Ministry on the corner of 17th and Hickory on , 21st at 10 am with the rev. James Williams officiating, graveside will follow at 3 pm in the Resthaven of Lubbock. The family will hold a visitation on , 20th from 5-7 pm at the Kiker-Seale .
