Obituary: Sylvia was born and raised in Dallas. The story has it that her father hired an ambulance to bring her and her mother home from the hospital after she was born, something rare for the time period. Her father worked at Dallas Casket and they lived in the Fair Park area of Dallas while she was a toddler. Her parents divorced when Sylvia was quite young and her mother became what is now referred to as a single mother. When Sylvia was still in elementary school her mother remarried, and her step father provided a lovely family life for her and her mother. lived in what would easily be considered an upscale area of Dallas just blocks away from the Lakewood Shopping district. She attended private schools, and graduated second in her Class from St. Edwards Academy. The year following graduation she married William Casey Long and had four children, Casey Jr., Karen, Rayborn and Edward. Life was that of a typical family in the early 60s. There were fun times with holidays, cub scouts, and crowded streets at Halloween. The family spent most summers camping at Lake Whitney forming life long memories. Sylvia worked as a bookkeeper after high school, then for a time in her early 50s as a Real Estate agent. At the end of her business career she was the Bookkeeper for Long Machine Tool . This family owned business was the career path taken by her husband Casey Long for his entire adult life. Sylvias career journey sent her on many paths; however her best job and role in life was that of MOTHER, in that role she was absolutely the best. There is never a question as to who comes first in her life. Sylvia is preceded in death by her father, Forest Lionel Moreland, mother, Nellie McDaniel and her husband, William Casey Long. She is survived by her children, William Casey, Jr and wife Chris: Karen and husband Tab Harding: Ray and wife Jill: Edward and wife Renee. Sylvia also is the proud Grandmother of Quinton Daniel Long, Rebecca Long Brazell, Marci Harding Donaldson, Kaitlin Harding Kanaman, Taryn McKenna Harding, Rayborn Anthony Long, Jr., Elizabeth Anne Long, Kristen Nicole Long, Megan Alyssa Long, Brittany Santos Harrell, Lauren Kasey Long, and Great-grandmother to Rosalyn Josephine Brazell, Nathan Jaxon Brazell, Camdyn Marie Donaldson, Aria Parker Kanaman, Luke Isaac Lomeli. She is also survived by her brother and sisters by marriage, Peggy Lou Brown of Texarkana, Tony Long of Clyde NC and Laura McEvoy of Dallas and many nieces and nephews as well as her special cousin Dorothy Jean Foreman. |

Obituary: Stacie Marie (Jones) Long passed away at 12:09pm on 17, 2015, after courageously fighting a very rare cancer - intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (bile duct cancer) - for over 4 years. She was 33 years old. Stacie Marie (Jones) Long was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on 26, 1982, to her loving parents, Guy "Richard" Jones Jr. and Judith "Judy" Anne (Bryant) Jones. Stacie was the youngest of three children. Her older brother and sister, Jeff Reagan and Angela (Reagan) Cotton. Stacie attended James E. Taylor High School in Katy and graduated in May, 2000. She attended The University of Texas and studied Engineering, and was a member of the Alpha Chi Omega sorority. She graduated from UT in May, 2004, with a degree in Civil Engineering. Stacie earned her professional engineering license in Civil Engineering. college she married her long time friend and soul mate, Eric Long, in 2006. had two beautiful girls, Hayden and Addison. Stacie started her career at Carter Burgess and subsequently worked for the City of Austin as their youngest ever Project Manager. Her career moved rapidly and she became project manager for one of the biggest and most prestigious projects in the country - Water Treatment Plant #4. As a project manager, her brutal honesty and unquestionable professionalism allowed her to make quick decisions and follow them through execution. She was always seen as a rising star in the City of Austin and would have been very successful. Hayden ( 6 year old) started Kindergarten, Stacie decided to shift gears and focus her efforts on being the best mom she could be and retired from the City of Austin. Stacie loved life and was determined to beat cancer and not let it define who she was. She continued to work while battling a rare cancer even though the very first specialist we talked to in Dallas (Baylor Medical ) painted a very grim picture and said Stacie needed to get her affairs in order as 3-5 months would be the maximum prognosis with her condition. It was after that visit (and long 4 hour trip home to Austin) that Stacie would not let another doctor tell her how long she has left on this earth. Stacie survived over three years worth of chemo therapy, two different liver resections (removing 75% of her liver and 25% of her liver), a liver transplant, two different types of radiation and many other therapies. Throughout these 4+ years, you would never hear Stacie complain, post a Facebook message about it, talk to anyone (outside of her close friends) about her struggles or use her disease as an excuse. She literally was the strongest person I ever knew - even her doctors were shocked at how strong and graceful she handled every step of her life. Some of her last words to me were - "take care of our girls and take care of my parents". Even when she was completely ill stricken, she wanted to ensure that her children and parents stayed as strong as she was. Stacie is survived by her husband Eric Stephen Long; her daughters, Hayden Grace Long and Addison Ainsley Long; her parents, Richard and Judy Jones, Katy, TX; her brother, Jeff Reagan and family, Atlanta, GA; her sister, Angela Cotton and family, Montgomery, TX; and her Grandmother, Floy Rhea Jones, Jenks, OK and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends that loved her dearly.
