Obituary: Edith Maxine Lohse, 69, died , Dec. 30, after a long illness. will be at 2 p.m. , Jan. 3, in Johnsons Chapel of San Angelo with Salvation Army Major Fran Kasarjian officiating. Burial to follow in Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. She was born Nov. 9, 1945, in San Angelo and attended Lake View Schools, before being married to Jerry Lohse on Aug. 9, 1963. recently observed their 51st anniversary. A long work career led Maxine to jobs in the apparel manufacturing field, including the Levi Strauss Co. She also worked at Sears, and most recently behind the lunch counter at Hudman Drug. She also plied her trade as a trained hair stylist. With an unwavering devotion to her family, she was affectionately called Mac by everyone. Counselor, protector, listener and helper, she was compelled to help carry the burden of those who knew they could depend on her. Mac loved Thanksgiving and always left a place at the table for those who had nowhere to go on the most American of holidays. She delivered many meals to those who could not get to her house. Her guests will always remember her generosity. Survivors include her husband; three daughters, Karen Miller of Austin, Darla Harper of San Antonio, and Teresa Riley of San Angelo; four brothers, James Teddy Long and wife Ann, Clifford Long and wife Robie, Aubrey Long and wife Tammy, and Afton Long and wife Nancy; three sisters, Edna Ruth Young and husband Don, Ava Lois Hunt and husband Gary, and Zena Beth Williamson, all of San Angelo, nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and a host of friends. Mac was preceded in death by her parents, James Shorty and Neoma Long, and twin infant sons, Ricky Gene Lohse and Mickey Dean Lohse. Obituary: Lohre, James F. was born to Ralph and Margaret Lohre in 1926 in Covington, KY. Jim departed this world after a fulfilling life on 10, 2014 at the age of 88. He is preceded by his parents and brothers, Tom Lohre and Robert Lohre. Jim is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Linda Lohre; son and wife, Robert and Gail Lohre; daughter and husband, Cathy and Dean Ueckert; sister, Patricia Marie Lohre and daughter and husband, Mary Butler and James Cleary; 2 grandsons, James and Joe; 2 granddaughters, Jennifer and Bethany; 4 great granddaughters, Cherish, Sarah, Haley and Sophie and 29 nephews and nieces. He proudly served his country as a CWO III in the US Army for 23 years, a veteran of WWII and the Korean War. retiring to Garland Texas, Jim continued his career with 20 years at Texas Instruments in Dallas Texas. Jim was a loving husband, father, grandfather and uncle. He was circled by many friends as a long time member of the 4th Degree Mother Teresa Assembly Knights of Columbus who will be performing the Honor Guard services, a long time member of the St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Garland Texas, a founding member of the Garland Knights of Columbus, square dancer and officer in the K Bar C Square Dance Club and those friends that loved camping with Good Sams. The family would like to recognize and share their appreciation for the many friends and the heartfelt care Jim received through the many nurses and caregivers at the Christian in Mesquite Texas over the past year and half. Jim will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Rosary and visitation will be held at Restland from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on , 12, 2014. Memorial services will be led by Father Joseph Mehan and held on , 13, 2014 at Restland Memorial Chapel at 11:00 AM, immediately followed by Graveside services. |

Obituary: As I think about writing an autobiography, I feel a deep sense of humility or unworthiness for having had so much loving care. It has been a happy life with Paul and our two wonderful daughters. Iris Lohr, Sept 20, 1995. Iris Mildred Corum Lohr was born in Eugene, Oregon, on 8, 1911, and died on 9, 2009, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, after a brief illness. moving to Oklahoma City from San Antonio in 2002, she was a resident of the Statesman Club Independent Living until her death. Iris had a long, energetic, happy life. She saw her children, her grandchildren, and especially her great-grandchildren, Maddie, Eamon, Fiona, and Eoin, as her legacy. The second child of Perry and Clara Corum, both educators, Iris spent her childhood and teenaged years on a farm near Portland, Oregon. Iris met Paul Hedges Lohr in grade school in Metzger. Thank goodness he was persistent and loyal, and we were married in 1939. Paul brought Iris to San Antonio, Texas, in 1948, and they settled in Terrell Heights. For most of her adult life, Iris was an avid bridge player. Until recently, she had weekly games with close friends at the Statesman. Reading and travel fed her active, inquiring mind, and her wit and enjoyment of people nourished her spirit and everyone around her. Iris leaves behind a family who will miss her very much: daughter Diane Lohr Wilson and husband Tom, of Oklahoma City and Houston; daughter Kathy St. Gil, Houston; grandson Kef Lohr Wilson and wife Colleen Kearns, Houston; grandson Gavin Lohr Wilson and wife Carrie McDonald, Austin; granddaughters Madeleine Corum and Fiona Wilson; grandsons Eamon and Eoin Wilson; and cousin Phyllis Wilson of Oregon, and many nieces and nephews. She will also be missed by her able at the Statesman and her good friend, Susan Tallbull. The family is grateful to Susan for her loving support of Iris in recent years. |
