Obituary: Brian Carl Locklear, age 14, died unexpectedly 30, 2003. He was born in Huntsville, AL Sept. 8, 1988, and has lived in Austin, TX for the last 7 years. Brian was an honor student at Grisham Middle School, where he was very active in student organizations, including the orchestra where he was 1st chair cello. He enjoyed reading, and was a very talented artist. He enjoyed swimming, playing computer games, mountain biking, water skiing, blacksmithing and playing canasta. This summer, Brian traveled to Montreal to Space Camp with his Tech Ed Class, where he went river rafting, and also learned to water ski on a family trip to Land Between the Lakes. His friends and family will fondly remember Brian’s loving nature, his wonderful sense of humor, and his willingness to help others. He recently traveled with his church group to Port Aransas, where they worked on a clean-up project to preserve the beach. We are grateful for the kindness he showed us and others, and the time we were allowed to spend with him. Words cannot express the love we had for Brian or that he had for others. He will be greatly missed. Brian is survived by his parents Bob and Sally Locklear; sister Susan; grandparents Clark and Kay Seymour, Dan and Sue McFarlan, and Bobby and Brenda Locklear; and his loving aunts, uncles and cousins. Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 6:00 PM, . Services will be held at Weed-Corley-Fish Chapel at 10:00 AM, on , 5, with the Reverend Marsha Brown officiating. Obituary: Elizabeth, who went by Beth, Rivas-Locklear, 58, passed away on 7, 2015 at her home after a short but courageously fought battle with pancreatic cancer. In the moment of her passing she was surrounded by her soulmate Harley and numerous family members. She touched many lives in her short time here and left behind a void that cannot be filled. She is greatly missed by so many people. Beth earned her bachelors degree in education at Oklahoma State University in 1997 and began her Spanish teaching career in the Stillwater, Oklahoma school system. In 1999 the family temporarily moved to Austin, Texas where she taught at Pearce Middle School. Later that year the family moved to Cedar Park, Texas where she taught at Cedar Park High School. In 2007 she transferred to Leander High School where she taught until the time of her diagnosis, four months before her passing. She was often involved with extracurricular activities for her students such as Spanish Club and The Pan American Student Forum of Texas. She was a mentor and friend to many at all the schools for which she worked. Beth is survived by her husband of 38 years, Harley Locklear III; two sons, Eric Locklear and Harley Locklear IV; daughter, Courtney Locklear; three grandchildren, Kaitlynn Locklear, Jensen Locklear, and Penny Elizabeth Locklear; mother Enriqueta Robles-Rivas; brothers, Danny Rivas, Luis Rivas, David Rivas and William Rivas; and sister Delia Rivas. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in Beths honor to pancreatic cancer research and treatment. Some options are pancan.org, pancreatic.org and npcf.us. A visitation will be held from 6-8pm on , 12, 2015 at Cook-Walden Chapel of the Hills, 9700 Anderson Mill Rd., Austin, Texas 78750.
