Obituary: Diane Lester was born on 22, 1954, at 3:16 am at the Amarillo Air Force base hospital in Amarillo Texas. She weighed 3 lbs., 5 oz. She was 14 ½ inches long. Father was - Daniel Oliver Chapman and Mother- Barbara Ann Gould Chapman. Diane grew up in Amarillo, moved to Abernathy till about the age of 7 and move to Ft. Worth, then Dallas. She lived in North Dallas and went to school there and finally moved to Oak Cliff. Diane went back forth between Dallas and Abernathy. Diane attended Justin F Kimball in Dallas, Texas before moving back to Abernathy to graduate. Diane graduated from Abernathy High School, Abernathy Texas in 1972. graduation she moved back to Oak Cliff. Diane met her future husband, Tommy Lester in of 1972, while Tommy was a senior at Justin F Kimball. At the time Tommy's parents had moved to Conroe Texas and Tommy was staying in Dallas to finish high school. Tommy was living in a house alone, met Diane at a friend's house party, she did not have place to stay, moved in and never left Tommy till this day. Tommy and Diane were married on 2, 1973. Diane started her working career as an administrated secretary in downtown Dallas. She was there for several years. Diane's first child, Thomas Matthew was born 17, 1974 and second child Todd Ryan Lester 27, 1978. Diane and Tommy moved to Madisonville Texas in 2000. Diane joined the First United Methodist Church of Madisonville, Texas and became an active member. moved to Temple Texas in of 2007. Diane continued working in various positions in retail sales, she loved her customers. She was a great "people person" as this showed this in her relationship with her customers. Diane ended her retail sales career due to health issued in 2013. Diane's hobbies were sewing and collecting Castles. She had a talent for drawing, but never pursued that to her fullest potential. She also loved to read Christian romance novels. She loved blues and reds in items of clothes and things. Diane always had animals growing up, cat and dogs. She was very passionate with her animals. Diane grew up in the era of the Beatles and Rolling Stones, which of course were some of her favorites along with the Righteous Brothers- "Unchained Melody", was one of her favorites. Not to say Elvis was not forgotten. Later in life she turned to country music. Diane would always fight in the car as to which station we played on trips as I didn't like country. In our early years we vacationed extensively to Galveston at the family beach house where she loved the beach and sun. Sometimes too much, I always had to drag her home. Just like a kid it was "Let me stay for just a few more minutes." If she didn't get to go to the beach or pool, she would sun outside. Her last beach adventure was in Lake Ontario. Diane was strong will, and keeps arguing her point, till you agreed. This strong will carried her through her illness still the end. She did not want me to call the ambulance. Diane leave behind sons Thomas Matthew Lester and Todd Ryan Lester, daughter in-law Priya Lester, grandchildren, Maya Lester and Ryan Lester. Her mother, Barbara Wommack, her sister Kathy Brashear and husband, Tommy of 43 years of marriage. A Memorial Service will be held at Laurel Land Memorial Chapel, 6000 South R. L. Thornton Freeway, Dallas, TX 75232 at 2:00 pm on 20, 2016 with inurnment to follow immediately to follow. |

Obituary: Anna Mae Allen Lester was born at home 5, 1935 in San Antonio, Texas to the late Jesse Franklin and Martha Inez Busby Allen. On 27, 1952 she married James Alton Lester. The couple had three children, Betty Lester Corley of Flatonia; the late Barbara Lester Corley of Copperas Cove and James Leeland Lester of Houston. In 1964 the family moved from El Paso after Jim's retirement from the Army. She opened a large beauty shop in Copperas Cove which she operated for many years. She was very active in and was elected Worthy Matron of her local Eastern Star Chapter in 1971. Shortly after Jims second retirement in 1985 they sold everything and hit the road in their RV which they truly enjoyed. moved to Flatonia in 1991. Jims death she resided at Schulenburg Villas & later The Regency where she enjoyed singing and being a part of the many activities they have. Anna Mae was an avid quilter and lover of all music. She played guitar and sang as often as she could. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Flatonia. She is survived by her daughter Betty and son-in-law David Skip Corley of Flatonia; son Lee and daughter-in-law Dianne of Houston, son-in-law Randy and daughter-in-law Sarah Lynn Corley of Copperas Cove, her sister Martha Allen Newman and husband Herb of Albuquerque, New Mexico and her grandchildren, great-grand-children , nieces and nephews. Obituary: Alvin Charles Lester of Corsicana, Texas was called home by his Heavenly Father on 25,2014. Charles was born in Terrell on May 2, 1936 to the late Alvin Clifford and Lola Helen Cauthern Lester. Preceding him in death are his parents, wife Sybil Lester, sister Joyce Nabors, brother in law Tommy Baldwin and 4 grandchildren. Charles graduated Terrell High School and attended Texas A&M until being drafted into the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict where he was honorably discharged. Obituary: Dr. William George Lesso, Sr. passed away peacefully on 19, 2015. Bill was born 23, 1931, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Andrew and Catherine (Franks) Lesso. He was an Eagle Scout. Bill was a 1949 graduate of Cathedral Latin High School. He graduated from Notre Dame in 1953 with B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and then went on to get an MBA from Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio, in 1963. Bill got a Masters of Economics and a Ph.D in Operations Research from Case Western Reserve University in 1967. Bill served in the U.S. Air Force as a Communications Officer in Okinawa. leaving the military, he was employed at Cleveland Graphite Bronze followed by six years at the General Electric Jet Engine Division in Cincinnati, Ohio. In 1967, Bill began an illustrious career as an Associate and then full Professor in the Mechanical Engineering Department of the of Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin. He also served as Assistant Dean of the of Engineering between 1979 and 1981. Bill enjoyed several sabbaticals at the U. S. Air Force Academy and at the Defense Intelligence in Washington, DC. Wild Bill was an extensive world traveler. As part of his travels, he taught Project Management Short Courses in South America, Australia, and Russia. Dr. Lesso had no shortage of tall tales. One of his fondest memories was climbing Ayers Rock - all the way, not just to the op of the chain! Jo traveled with Bill often, including sailing down the Yangtze River in China, way before tourists went there. More recently they traversed the Panama Canal. Bills interests included dabbling in chaos theory, hurricane tracking and prediction. As a teenager he played accordion in a polka band. His lifelong love of music continued with strangling the cat also known as playing the violin and viola. The joy of his retirement was serving as Regional Coordinator for the Jane Austen Society of North America, South Central Texas Region. One of his many passions was taking care of his Little Free Library that he initiated in his neighborhood. Bill is survived by his wife of 62 years, Josephine Parker Lesso, brother Andrew Lesso of Mentor, Ohio, son William G. Lesso, Jr. and his wife Cecelia, daughters Mary Lesso Herbst, Anne Lesso, and Juliet Lesso Bianca and her husband Joseph. He is also survived by his honorary son, Liming Shao and wife Linda. He had ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. His son David Lesso predeceased him. Memorial Services will be conducted at one oclock in the afternoon on , the 28th of 2015, at St. Theresa's Catholic Church, 4311 Small Drive, Austin, TX 78731. Interment will follow in Assumption under the direction of Cook-Walden . |
