Obituary: Helen Rae Harrison Lero went to be with her Lord on , 20th, 2016.

Visitation will be held , 22nd, 2016 at Memorial Chapel in Bryan from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. The funeral services will be held , 23rd, 2016 at Memorial Chapel at 10:30 a.m. officiated by John Maurer with burial services following at Restever Memorial Park .

Born 22, 1926 to Isaac Brown and Nora A. (Holliday) Harrison in Tabor, Texas. She spent most of her childhood in Tabor where she always talked about some of her fondest memories. She graduated 1944 from Stephen F. Austin High School where she was active in her school and on the volleyball team. Following school, she moved from Tabor to Bryan, Texas with her parents and joined Avenue Baptist Church later to become Central Baptist Church where she has been a lifelong member. She began working as a telephone switchboard operator at the old Bryan Airforce Base in of 1944. While working at the telephone company she met the love of her life, Joe Charles Lero of Bryan, Texas and was married on 23, 1949. were blessed with four children, Charles Ray Lero, William Joe Lero, Terry James Lero and Gaylan Douglas Lero. She enjoyed being active in her childrens lives as a Cub Scout Den Mother and working with the PTA at Bowie and Fannin schools. She was an active member of Central Baptist Church teaching 3rd grade School for 25 years. Later she participated in Central Baptists Widows Hope Group and also in the Upper Crust at First Presbyterian Church, Bryan, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Joe Charles Lero. Her parents Isaac Brown and Nora Harrison; sisters Avis Loraine Chaffin, Mattie ONeal Smith; and brother Isaac Brown Sonnie Harrison.

Survivors are her sisters, Lila Mae Wayne and Mary Ellen Wine, and brother Roland Harrison; and her children Charles Lero and Joe Incorvati, William Lero and wife Peggy Lero, Terry Lero, Gaylan Lero and wife Lori Lero; and her grandchildren Audrey Lero, Grant Lero and fiancé Emily Smith, Graham Lero and Peyton Lero; and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank everyone at CHI St. Josephs Hospital and Crestview Retirement Community for the outstanding level of care and compassion provided to our beloved Helen over the last year.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Central Baptist Church childrens building fund in Station, Texas.

Obituary: Julian A. (Sonny) Lerner, 91, passed away at his home on , 10, 2016.

He was born 12, 1924 in Galveston, Texas to Aaron and Annie Lerner. His father was a Survivor of the 1900 Flood that almost destroyed Galveston. He graduated from Galveston Ball High School in 1940 at age 15 and entered the University of Texas. He was Sports Editor of his high school annual and had intended to become a sports writer but switched to pre-law. He enlisted in the U.S. Army during World War II right after his 18th birthday and served in the Army Specialized Training Program. When that Program was disbanded, he was assigned to the 103rd (Cactus) Infantry Division. He served with that Division in a mortar squad in a Rifle in France, Germany and Austria and was awarded three Battle Stars, the Combat Infantry badge and the Bronze Star for Service in Ground Combat. During the Hagenau Woods battle in France, his was surrounded by German tanks and suffered heavy casualties and captured men. He and some of his comrades were listed as missing but were reunited with their under extreme weather conditions and heavy enemy fire. In 1945, he was a liberator of survivors of a German concentration camp in Landsberg, Germany and a witness of the Holocaust.

the war, he earned a Business Degree in 1947 and a law degree in 1950 from the University of Texas. He practiced law for 10 years, and then became Legal Counsel to the insurance conglomerate operated by Troy Post. He recognized mutual funds as having great growth potential and acquired the Fund Management after serving as its President. In 1968, he founded and ran the Charter Fund. He eventually sold the Management to the AIM Group and remained Portfolio Manager of Charter Fund (renamed AIM Charter) until his retirement in 1994. During his management of AIM Charter Fund, it became one of the largest and most successful stock funds in the country. During his career, he was recognized as a pioneer in the Fund business by many professional organizations and publications.

During his professional career, Mr. Lerner was a member of the Dallas, Texas, and American Bar Associations, Dallas Society of Investment Analysts, a Governor of the Board of the Investment Institute, Member of the Investment Companies Committee of the NASD, and Portfolio Manager of the AIM Charter and AIM Summit Funds. He previously served as Portfolio Manager of California-based Olympus Stock Fund (which he co-founded) and Atlas Growth and Income Fund. his retirement from AIM, he served as a Director of Associated Financial Group of California, IDEX Mutual Funds of Florida, Atlas Funds of California and the American Skandia Trust and Advisor Funds of Connecticut.

At the University of Texas, Mr. Lerner was a member of Tau Delta Phi fraternity and was awarded an Athletic Letter as an Intermural Manager. He served as President of the Dallas Texas Ex-Students Association and was a Life Member of the UT Ex Students Organization. He supported the University of Texas and all its athletic teams.

Mr. Lerner was a lifetime member of Beth Jacob Congregation in Galveston, Texas which his father helped found, and a member of Temple Emanuel El in Dallas.

Mr. Lerner married his college sweetheart, Peggy (Gross) Lerner and she was his partner and supporter in every endeavor, a loving, caring wife of 63 ½ years, who died in 2011. He was preceded in death by loving sisters Rhe Lerner Oster, Pearl Lerner Geller and Helen Lerner Topek. He is also survived by loving daughters and sons-in-law, Cynthia and Burton Gilbert of Fort Worth and Joy Lerner and Stephen Kelin of Washington, DC and loving grandchildren, Michael and Natalia Gilbert, Lauren and Houdi Epstein and Emily and Alison Kelin, great granddaughters Alexandra Paige Gilbert, Leah Rose Epstein, Blair Emerson Gilbert and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and longtime friends scattered throughout the country. He is very appreciative to his faithful nurse and assistant for many years, Lupita Barcelo.

If so inclined, donations may be made to Jewish Family Service of Dallas, Temple Emanuel of Dallas, Congregation Beth El in Fort Worth, Jewish Family Service of Tarrant , or a charity of your choice.

Services will be conducted by Rabbi David Stern. The burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on , 13 at Sparkman Hillcrest and the Memorial Service at 11:00 at Sparkman Hillcrest followed by a reception at Temple Emanuel. Minyan will be at Congregation Beth El in Fort Worth at 5:00 p.m.

Obituary: Ruben Romeo Lerma Sr., age 75, passed away 2, 2016. He was born on 17, 1941 to Rosendo and Eudelia Lerma in Corpus Christi, Texas. He was raised in Taft, Texas. He graduated from Taft high school in 1961. Attended Del Mar and graduated in 1963.He served in the U.S. Navy from 1963 to 1965. He married his wife, Mary of 52 years on 22, 1963. He was the owner of Crown L. .
Ruben was a loving father, grandfather, brother and uncle.
He enjoyed participation in golf, fishing and spending time with family. He will always be remembered for his service to the community, devotion to family and commitment to improve Housing for Corpus Christi residents for 28 years.
Ruben is preceded in death by father, Rosendo Lerma Sr.; mother, Eudelia Lerma; brother, Rosendo Lerma Jr., and sister, Elva Gonzalez.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Lerma; daughter, Suzanne Diane Perez; son, Ruben R. (Retha Cable) Lerma Jr.; siblings, Robert Lerma Sr., Reynaldo Lerma, Tommie Lerma and Esther Lerma Trevino; granddaughter, Julianna Marie Perez and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm on , 4, 2016 with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening at Seaside .
