Obituary: Mack Wayne Laxson, 72, passed away peacefully at home at Canyon Lake, TX on 9, 2015 after a long, brave battle with cancer. Wayne was born in San Antonio 28, 1943 to Aleck and Virginia Laxson. He attended Brackenridge High School, graduating in Germany from H. H. Arnold High School in 1961. He went on to graduate from Texas A & M University and obtained his Masters Degree in 1972. While in San Antonio he was founder of Castle Hills Executive Suites. Wayne was in commercial real estate for many years in San Antonio, Dallas and later in the Seattle area. He was an active member of the North San Antonio Chamber of Commerce and the Everett Chamber of Commerce in Washington State. He received many awards in both Chambers for his participation and contributions. Wayne was preceded in death by his father, Aleck Laxson. Wayne is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Mary Thomas Laxson, his mother, Virginia Laxson, his brother Ricky Laxson and wife Barbara, nephew, Brandon & Katie Laxson, niece, Meredith & Mark McEntire and many cousins and friends. A memorial service will be held at University Methodist Church, DeZavala and Vance Jackson, in San Antonio 15th at 11:00, followed by a reception at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to UT Science , Cancer Therapy & Research , Executive Director's Critical Needs Fund, 7703 Floyd Curl Drive San Antonio, TX 78229-3900. |

Obituary: Services for Ruth Lax will be at 3pm at Shearith Israel Memorial Park. Lax, 92, died morning. Her life was filled with service. She was an Army nurse at an EVAC hospital in Germany in WW II. She was an early member of MADD and a founding member of Dallas PFLAG. She returned to college in her 60s for her Bachelors and Masters degrees. She volunteered for years at Dallas Suicide & Crisis . And she accomplished this while raising three sons and editing Shearith Israels Taste of Tradition cookbook. Survivors include two sons, Michael Saul Lax of Garland and Eugene Harold Lax of Houston; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. |

Obituary: Peggy Ann Lawyer of Kerrville, TX was born 24, 1923 and passed away 17, 2002. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who dedicated her life to her family. She enjoyed traveling, nature and wildlife, but her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family. Her husband, Gene Lawyer; and her son, Tim Lawyer, preceded her in death. She is survived by her daughters, Susan Guess and husband Jim of San Antonio, and Nancy Stewart of Georgetown; her son, Tom Lawyer and wife Barbara of Agoura Hills, California; and daughter-in-law, Lucy Lawyer of Kerrville; nine grandchildren, Casey Smith and wife Amy, Chris Smith, Shannon Stewart and fiancé, Shane Johns, Chris Ramirez, Matt Lawyer, Ross Stewart, Jon Lawyer, Patrick Lawyer, Hunter Lawyer; and one great-granddaughter, Taylor Smith.
