Obituary: Our dearest Robin, Robin Caroll Lavinghouze, born 3, 1956, beautiful, loving son, brother, and best friend , went peacefully, to be with his Father in Heaven, while at home in Houston, Texas, on , 30, 2010. Words cannot describe how much he is loved, nor how much he will be missed. He will live in our hearts forever, never forgotten. The most wonderful mother and fathers love there could ever be filled his life, and the special love and caring of his best friend made him very happy; brother, sister, family and Texas and Mississippi friends, as well. Robin returned that love and friendship ten times over showing it in so many ways. He loved God and knew Jesus as his Savior, and was a member of South Main Baptist Church in Houston, Texas, where he and Sharon attended regularly, as well as Highland Colony Baptist Church in Mississippi. services for Robin will be 4 , 2010, at Wright and Ferguson on Highland Colony Parkway in Ridgeland, at 11:00 a.m., with burial in Lakewood Memorial . Visitation will be 3rd, from 5:00 p.m.to 9:00 p.m. at Wright and Ferguson . The family will also receive friends one hour before the services on , Nov. 4th. Robin was a 1974 graduate of Calloway High School, attended the University of Mississippi where he received a masters degree in accounting, played football for Ole Miss, was a member of the M Club, and upon graduation from Ole Miss, worked for Pruett Oil in Jackson, MS, then later with Grelling Oil in Rockport, TX, where he learned the ins and outs of the oil industry. 1980s, he moved to Houston, Texas, to continue his work in the oil and gas exploration business, worked for various companies before becoming an independent oil and gas leasing contractor, then opened his own business, Rebtex Oil & Gas; never was scared to venture out and try new things, and would beat the skepticism by making his idea a reality. Robin enjoyed coming home to his Mother and Fathers house as often as possible and especially looked forward to holidays, although he knew and loved the State of Texas as if he were born there. Making it home to Mississippi for special days and events in the lives of his Grandparents and family was important; loved having a niece to bring presents to and going to the Ole Miss football games with his father, mother, brother and sister. All of his buddies were brothers to him. Robin enjoyed playing golf, and his dogs, Bubba, Jake, and Brinkley made him so happy. Going to Comfort, Texas, to spend weekends at a favorite b&b was especially important and fun. Traveling and buying happies for those he loved, aking his family and friends feel special was a pleasure to him, and he never criticized or complained. The recent months for Robin left him suffering with severe back and leg pain, preventing him from walking at times, and he had several seizures. Go with God Robin, your pain is no more. We all look forward to the day we see your sweet face again in Heaven. Your light is shining in our hearts! Robin is survived in death by his mother and father, Mitch and Johnnie Lavinghouze of Brandon, MS; his sister, Deborah L. Heard and Niece Kristina L. Heard of Madison, MS; his brother, Steven M. Lavinghouze (wife Laura) of Flowood, MS; and his best friend and love of his life, Sharon Lawless of Houston Texas. He was preceded in death by his loving grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. G. P. Lavinghouze (Meme and Pop)of Jackson, MS, and Mr. And Mrs. David Mitchell (Grandmother and Granddaddy) of Fayetteville, Tennessee; Brother in law, Clifton W. Heard of Madison, MS; and great uncle and aunt, Hurchell and Joyce Lavinghouze of Bogalusa, LA. Honored friends, the pallbearers are Kerry Walker of Memphis, TN; David Coates of Brandon, MS; Mark Clark of Jackson, MS; Stan Kynerd of Brandon, MS; Jim Carroll of Norfolk, Arkansas; Mike Lee of Clinton, MS; Ashley Ogden of Jackson, MS; and Mike Pollard of Brandon, MS. Memorials may be made to CARA (Community Animal Rescue and Adoption), University of Mississippi M Club, University of Mississippi School of Accounting, and the Mississippi Heart Association. |
