Obituary: Barbara Ann Labardini, 76, of Austin, TX passed away peacefully surrounded by loving family the morning of 20, 2014. Barbara was born to Bernard Leo and Mary Catherine Stephan on 1, 1938 in Cedar Rapids, IA. She married Dr. Mario Marcelo Labardini on 14, 1968 in Ann Arbor, MI while both attending the University of Michigan. The married couple moved to Mexico City, Mexico where Barbaras adventurous spirit helped her to embrace a new language and culture. She returned to the United States in 1977, moving to Denison TX where they raised their two children. Retirement and family brought them to Austin, TX. Her love for travel and art took her to many wonderful places all around the world. She touched all that knew her in her own special way with laughter, love and gift of conversation. Barbara is preceded in death by her parents and brother-in-law George W. Alderman. She is survived by her loving husband Mario, daughter Caterina Jakubowski (Christopher); son Marcelo Labardini (Nur); grandchildren Luca and Lara Labardini; siblings Mary Jean Alderman, Patricia Worthy (Thomas), Bernard Stephan (Arline), Kathryn Marshall (Joseph C Tuck) and many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in her honor to the Susan B. Komen foundation for Breast Cancer or the Kimbell Art Museum. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on , 17th at Emmaus Catholic Church, 1718 Lohmans Crossing in Lakeway. |

Obituary: Our beloved mother, Sophie Karnillow LaBarbera passed away peacefully 11, 2010. She was born to Tihon and Leontina Karnillow 1, 1921, in Manhatten, New York. Sophie married Frank Joseph LaBarbera 5, 1942. She will be greatly missed by her four children, Christine Lovelace of Alvin, Texas; Philip LaBarbera of Nacogdoches, Texas; Helen Magee of Houston, Texas; and Matthew LaBarbera of Austin, Texas. "Grandma Sophie" is survived by nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her two sisters, Helen Cvirko and Pauline Karnillow of Bradenton, Florida. Sophie is preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Brian Phillip LaBarbera; and great-grandson Timothy LaBarbera. Ms. LaBarbera was a resident of Nacogdoches for over thirty years. An active member of the community; she was a charter member of the Womens Reading Club, an active member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Ladies Guild and served a term as president of the Nacogdoches Womens Republican Club. A homemaker at heart, Sophie was a fantastic cook, seamstress and proficient knitter. In addition to her activities, she always had time for her childrens activities. She was a Brownie and Girl Scout leader for her older daughter, Christine, and made time to go to her elder son, Philips, Little League baseball games. She also found time to be an Avon representative, which she found very fulfilling. Sophie spent the later years of her life living with her son, Philip. In the last years of her life, we were very fortunate to find a loving caretaker, Clara Segrest of Tyler, Texas. The two of them loved each other dearly. Miss Sophie will truly be missed by all of her family, but we know she will be in a better place, at peace with her God. Service will be at 3 p.m. , 13, 2010, at Cason Monk-Metcalf Sunset Chapel with Monsignor James E. Young officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. , 12, at the funeral home. Obituary: Born in Kansas City, Missouri on 5, 1933 and went to his eternal reward 8, 2015 in Dallas, TX. Frank graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1950. Received his B.A. Degree from Southern Methodist University in 1954 and Law Degree in 1956 also from SMU. In 1956 he joined Republic National Bank of Dallas as Vice President and Trust Officer until 1983 before opening his private practice which lasted until the present time. He was an institution in the Lakewood area and most especially at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Frank and his wife Josephine took special care of numerous family, friends and clients throughout his law practice. He was a charter and active member of St. Thomas Aquinas. He leaves behind his wife of sixty years Josephine, sons Frank LaBarba III and John A. LaBarba, grandson John LaBarba Jr. and great grandchildren Vincente and Emily LaBarba and numerous nieces, nephews and many friends that he loved like family. Obituary: Mary V. Labaj, age 97, passed away 27, 2015 in Granger, TX. Mary was born to Jim Martinets and Josie Kubala Martinets in of 1918. She was a lifelong resident of Granger and on 18, 1945 she married the love of her life Emmitt Labaj. Mary was deeply religious and very active in the community. She was a member of SS. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church, belonged to the St. Flora Altar Society, where she was Treasurer since 1960; was a member of the KJZT Lodge #18, a member of the Granger Business Womens Club, a Jolly Timer, part of the American Legion Auxiliary, Supporter of the local Catholic School, a Eucharistic Minister for 13 years, and sang in the church choir for over 70 years. She is preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Emmitt Labaj. She is survived by her nephews, James and wife Cheryl Drozd and Bill Drozd, and her niece, Pat and husband Elroy Neu. Also, niece Geradine (Jeri) Labaj Frank and husband Richard, Dorthy Daniel and husband Bill, Lorene Beatty, Darwin Labaj and wife Alice Labaj, Marvin Labaj and Johnny Ann Labaj, Raymond Blaha and wife Betty, Henry Allen Labaj, and numerous great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 6pm-8pm at Condra on 29, 2015 with a Rosary at 7pm. A mass of Christian Burial will be held on 30, 2015 at SS. Cyril and Methodius Church.
