Obituary: Jack Lawrence Sr., 88, died May 20, 2017 at his home in Jackson, TN. Jack was born 4, 1929 to the late, M.T. and Ruby Belle Lawrence in Jackson, Tn. He grew up in Madison and went on to graduate from Columbia Military Academy in Columbia, TN where he acceled in football. graduation he returned to the family farm and married the late Barbara Hussey Lawrence. had four children, Joy, Jack Jr., Dick, and Jon. Even with the farming accident which took his arm at the young age of 19, he had the overcoming strength to continue on to build a successful farming and cattle operation known as Tall Oaks Farm with his three sons, Jack Jr., Dick, and Jon. Jack was respected and well known for being an outstanding, lifelong cattleman throughout the industry. He also was an avid fan of UT football and Cardinal baseball. But most of all, his love for duck hunting was one of his greatest attributes. Jack won several awards for his duck calling and was a world contender for his skill. Jack was a lifelong member of First United Methodist Church. Later in life after the death of Jacks first wife, Barbara, Jack married the late Faye Caldwell Lawrence. Jack was preceded in death by his parents, his wives, his daughter, Joyce Ann Lawrence, his brother, Taylor Lawrence and a nephew, Trigger Lawrence. Jack is survived by his three sons, Jack Lawrence Jr. (Kerry), Richard Gary Lawrence, and Jon Lynn Lawrence (Lora) all of Jackson, TN; his grandchildren, Sunnye Lawrence, Shea Thweatt (Darren), Jack (Trey) Lawrence III (Dana), Richard Lawrence (Krystal), Kristi Price (Josh), Haley Lawrence; and seven great grandchildren, Chelsey Richardson, Corey Lawrence, Emily Ann Lawrence, Baylin Lawrence, Nora Lawrence, Lynlee Lawrence, Logan Price and Jaxon Price. He is also survived by his niece, Elizabeth (Libby) Gibson. Loyal friends, Ron Lollar and David Horton, as well as ministers from First United Methodist Church will be officiating the service. Jack Lawrence III, Richard Lawrence, Charles Lawrence, Josh Price, Matthew Lollar, and Jason Butler will serve as pall bearers. Honorary pall bearers will be Milton Smylie, Ray Tanner, and David Horton. The family would like to express a special gratitude and thank you for all the love, kindness and exemplary care of Jack Lawrence Sr., to Angela Roach, Shelby Charles, Jennifer Cole, Shelly Douglas, and Teresa Ware. Visitation will be 12:00 pm - 2:00pm with services beginning at 2:00pm on May 24, 2017 at George Smith , North Chapel. |

Preceded in death by her husband Jack William Lawrence; parents, Ollie Duane Agee and Gertrude Beatrice House; four grandchildren, Misty Proctor, David Proctor, Troy Billingsley & Christopher Sharp and two in-laws, Bill Proctor, Paulette Lawrence; siblings, Nezzie Sparrow, James Thomas (JT) Agee, Glen Agee and Katherine Eli.
