Obituary: Mr. Finis Mark Pud Landers, Jr., 91, former longtime resident of Riverside Drive and retired from Union Carbide, died , 15, 2015 at St. Thomas Medical . A private immediate family graveside service will be held at Friendship in Culleoka, with Military Honors provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19. The Maury native was the son of the late Finis Mark Landers, Sr. and Kate Baxter Landers. He was a U.S. Navy veteran serving in three European conflicts, Anzio, Elba and Southern France during WWII. The conflict in Southern France began on 6, 1944, when he and his shipmates landed at Omaha Beach for the Allied invasion of Normandy, known as D-Day. On 21, 1947 he married Mary Josephine Gibson Landers who survives. He was employed by Union Carbide for thirty years and enjoyed gardening, wood working and fishing. He devoted the last several years of his life taking care of his beloved wife. Mr. Landers was a member of Pleasant Mount Cumberland Presbyterian Church. In addition to his wife of 68 years, he is survived by his daughter, Carol (Mike) Tapp of Franklin; son, Mark (Carlene) Landers, III of Culleoka; grandchildren, Tracy LeAnn Landers of Murfreesboro, Michael Brian (Jennifer) Tapp of Franklin; step-grandchildren, Jesse (Adrienne) Hughes, Carly Rae Mendes, Precinda Jo Mendes, Joseph M. Mendes all of Culleoka; and great grandchild, Huston Tripp Hughes. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mabel Park and brothers, William B. Landers, Ira H. Landers and Harold Landers. Pallbearers include Brian Tapp, Joseph Mendes and Jesse Hughes. |

Obituary: services for Charles Rex Landers, age 81, will be held at 2 p.m. on , 13, 2017 at the South Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons with Timmy Bryant officiating. Burial will follow in Liberty Grove with Military Honors and Masonic Rites. Rex passed away on , 10, 2017 at Jackson-Madison General Hospital. He was born on 14, 1935 in Bemis, TN, the son of the late Robert Guy and Louise Evelyn Overton Landers. He served in the Army National Guard for 42 years earning the rank of First Sargent of C, 30th Maintenance Battalion. He was a member of St. Johns Lodge No. 332 F&AM and was a 32 degree Scottish Rite. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Emily Dee Landers and a sister, Betty Scott. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Ann Strong Landers of Jackson; four children, Charles Rex Landers II (Lori) of Jackson, Tony Allen Landers (Alicia) of Jackson, Cindy Ann Landers Walters of Jackson, and Kristie Dawn Landers Young of Jackson; 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; his brothers, Ray Vernon Landers and Billy Fred Landers; and a sister, Glenda Faye Banks. Active Pallbearers will be Ryan Landers, Tyler Young, Charles Rex Landers III (Chas), John Roten, Jerry Scott, and Joe Bryant. Honorary Pallbearers will be Charles Bryant and Jim Bryant.
