Obituary: 19, 1923 - 18, 2011 NORMAN Margaret Z. Lanier, 87, passed away on , 18, 2011, in Norman, OK. She was born on 19, 1923 in Shawnee, OK to Mary Ann (Pendergast) and Martin Zoeller. Margaret lived in Sacred Heart and Shawnee, OK before moving to Norman in 1936. She received her BA degree in education from University of Oklahoma and taught grade school at St. Josephs Catholic School and at Barnes Elementary School in Midwest City for twenty-five years. She is a longtime member of St. Josephs Catholic Church and served as President of the Womans Club. Margaret also worked at the thrift shop and was named Woman of the Year in 2005. She was also a member of the "Golden Agers." Since her retirement, she has enjoyed traveling the world. Margaret is survived by her daughters: Mary Ann Shatley and Bernice Kathryn Lanier, of Norman; and Carol Lanier of Culman, Alabama. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Kathryn Shatley of Altus, OK; Jennifer Shatley and John Paul of Norman; Robert and Nicole Shatley of Oklahoma City; Walter and Samantha Shatley of Omaha, NB; and Toni Bailey of Culman, Alabama; great-grandchildren: Brianna Dudley, Curtis Dudley, Hunter Dudley and Issac Dudley of Altus; Danielle Bailey of Culman, Alabama; Joseph and Elana Nicole of Oklahoma City. She is preceded in death by her parents; both of her brothers, Joseph and Charles Jerome; and her son, Jim Lanier.A prayer service will be held 7:00PM, , at Primrose Chapel.Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00AM, , 23, 2011, at St. Joseph Catholic Church.
