Obituary: service for Mr. Johnny Lyle, 68, of Piedmont will be , 30, 2015 at 2 p.m. at Thompson with the Rev. Jerry Stewart and Rev. Jack Morgan officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Piedmont Memory Gardens. Mr. Lyle passed away 28, 2015 at Vanderbilt Medical in Nashville, Tennessee. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12 - 2 p.m. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Barbara Grissom Lyle of Piedmont, one son, Scotty Grimes (Cayce) of Piedmont, three granddaughters, Savannah Grimes, Lexy Goss and Grayce Goss all of Piedmont, one sister, Darlene Goss of Panama City, Florida, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Lyle and Betty and Melvin Wood, two brothers, Larry Lyle and Lance Wood. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Boatner, Norman Cochran, Ed Davis, Clinton Hightower, Joseph McCurdy, Ronnie Morrow, Robert Pace, Tommy Surrett and Bobby Whorton. A native of Piedmont, Mr. Lyle served in the United States Marine Corps and was a member of Philadelphia Baptist Church. He worked for Young Oil for over 15 years. In 1988 he began working at the Anniston Army Depot and retired in 2006. He was a avid lover of antique cars and the muscle cars of the 1960s. |

Obituary: Sept. 3, 1941-Aug. 5, 2014 David Lane Lyle, a lifetime resident of Mobile, AL, went to be with Jesus on , 5, 2014 at the age of 72. David was preceded in death by his daughter, Mary Louise Missy Jones; his parents, James J. Lyle and Mattie Ruth Fincher Lyle; two brothers, Sonny Lyle and William Lyle; two sisters, Patricia Smith and Glenda Moore. He is survived by his wife, Janet; his sons, Jake (Mendy) Lyle and Terry (Tammy) Lyle; seven grandchildren, Andrew (Alexis), Jamie, Ashten, Chloe, Mayce, Carson and Cannon; two sisters, Christena Stephens and Janet Wright; one brother, Michael Lyle; scores of nieces, nephews and other relatives, and his Texas A&M Aggie family. David graduated from Houston Vo-Tech High School in Houston, TX and Texas A&M University with a Civil Engineering Degree. He owned and operated Lyle Engineering, Inc. in Mobile, AL for many years. Graveside services will be held , 30, 2014 at 11:00 AM in Mobile Memorial Gardens. Texas A&M Urn Bearer will be Jamie Laine Lyle. Honorary pallbearers - Texas A&M Aggies. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the David L. Lyle Memorial Fund set up at PNC Bank in Mobile, AL, or your favority charity.
