Obituary: Miss Pat left the earth on 8, 2015. Presently, she is walking the heavenly neighborhoods with a pack of tail-wagging dogs in tow, stopping only occasionally to remind the angels to water the flowers. Preceding her in death are her husband, Charles (Chuck) Lottridge and her son, Keith Lottridge. She is survived by her daughter, Gayle Lottridge Geitgey (Jim) of Springfield, Ohio, and two granddaughters: Bethany Geitgey Whitaker (Jim) of Springfield, Ohio, and Heather Lottridge Bryant (Kyle) of London, England. She is also survived by her adopted family and next-door neighbors, The Picketts, and her forever daughter-in-law, Nancy Lottridge Anderson. Finally, she is survived by her beloved dachshund, Abby, who was at her side when she passed. Betty was born in Detroit, Michigan, in 1922 to second generation German immigrants. She was the youngest of six children and a surprise to her middle-aged parents. When a neighbor stopped by to see this surprise, her comment was, “Why, she looks like Pat the milkman!” Her Pa laughed, and the name “Pat” stuck. Pat worked for the railroad many years in Detroit and proudly spoke of her certification as a comptometer operator. When she married Chuck in 1947, she set aside the comptometer and became a wife and mother. settled in Warren, Ohio, where they raised their two children. In 1974, Chuck was transferred to Clinton, MS, and Pat began her life in the south. She loved the weather. It allowed her to spend many hours outdoors, doing the things she loved best—gardening, tennis, golf, and walking. She played tennis until her 70’s and was still seen walking the loop in Cascades into her 90’s. Even though she lived many years in Mississippi, she never lost her Midwestern accent. When her southern neighbors remarked, “You talk funny,” she would respond, “No, YOU talk funny!” She loved her adopted home and made many friends among her neighbors and church members at First United Methodist Church of Clinton. She knew every dog in the neighborhood. And she loved her family, doting on her two granddaughters, and cherishing visits from her daughter. Miss Pat was much loved! When she could no longer do the things she loved, she finally agreed to move to Ohio to be near her daughter. Gayle made sure her mother had the best of care and made sure she was surrounded by family in her last days, but Miss Pat is coming home to the south to be buried. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM on , 14, 2015 at Lakewood with a service for family and friends beginning at 12:00 PM in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Lakewood Memorial Park. Don’t send flowers, though! She hated to see blooms cut down in the prime of their lives. Instead, make a donation on her behalf to Mississippi Animal Rescue League or First United Methodist Church of Clinton.
