Obituary: Bess Claire Langerman, 97, passed away on , 12, 2017 at Hillcrest Hospital in Mayfield Heights. She was born 15, 1919 in Farrell, PA, daughter of the late Leon and Ella (Primack) Gelfand. Bess worked at Addison School in Masury as a 4th grade teacher before leaving to become a full time homemaker. She was a member of Beth Israel Temple. Bess is survived by her children, Gary Langerman of Cleveland, Rita Gay Langerman of Marietta, GA, Jill (Steve) Langerman of Las Vegas, NV, and Libby (Kevin) Rosenstein of Chicago, IL; three grandchildren, Rebecca (Andrew) Cloyes, Eric Rosenstein, and Ashley (Jon) Berliner; and two great-grandchildren, Haley Cloyes and Ari Berliner. She was preceded in death by her husband, High Langerman; parents, three brothers , Ben, Manny, and Harry Gelfand; and one sister, Rose Zatell. Family and friends may gather , 15, 2017 at Lane Family s, Roberts Clark Chapel, 180 Garfield Drive NE, Warren, Ohio, from 9:30AM to 10:00AM. services will be held at the funeral home on , beginning at 10AM. Obituary: Joseph Langer, 91, of Elyria, died , 25, 2014 at Wesleyan Village after a brief illness. Joseph was born 17, 1923 in New York, NY and had been an Elyria resident for the past 2 years moving from Vermilion. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served during WWII where he received the European African Middle Eastern Service Medal and the American Theater Service Medal. Joseph became a well known lighting engineer starting his career with Gotham Lighting, NY. He then worked for ITT Lithonia in Vermilion for many years retiring in 1988. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Vermilion and enjoyed golfing, fishing, photography, and reading. He especially enjoyed spending time with and talking about his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Peggy (nee Testament) Langer of Elyria; son, Michael Langer of St. Louis, MO; daughter, Anne (Bruce) Burke of Brooklyn, NY; daughter-in-law, Doreen Langer of Elyria; step sons, James Renfro of Elyria and Toby Allen of Avon Lake; step daughter, Julie (Bob) Cox of Vermilion; grandchildren: Jesse Burke, Corey Burke, Taryn Burke, Carol Stitak, Daniel (Ashley) Langer, Sarah Cox, and Jeffrey Cox; great grandchildren, Madelyn and Adam; and brothers, Emanuel Manny Langer and Howard Howie Langer. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Carol (Zuer) Langer; parents, Jacob and Tillie Langer;son, Alan Langer, sister Rebecca Kurzwell; and brothers, Hyman and Louis. A private memorial service will be held with the Vermilion Veterans Council conducting military honors. The family would like to thank the Wesleyan Village staff and the Hospice of the Western Reserve for the special care they provided. Obituary: A memorial service celebrating the life of Joachim Hans Langer will be held at 3 PM , 12th, at the Lane Family , Austintown Chapel. Mr. Langer passed away morning, 8th at his home at the age of 87. He was born on 8, 1929 in Froel Kreis Neustadt Oberschlesien, Germany a son of Josef and Maria (Kiesel) Langer. He graduated from Wilhelm Karmann Trade School in Osnabruck, Germany in 1950. Joachim immigrated to the United States in of 1954. He worked for Ajax Magnetheric from 1954 to 1994 in the Youngstown Plant, and later in the Warren Plant, as a Coil Maker and Transformer Technician. He was a catholic by faith. Joachim enjoyed gardening both vegetables and flowers, going to the beach and traveling, as well as cars. He leaves his wife of 58 years, the former Anna Marie Heini, whom he married 7, 1959, one son, Edward Langer and his wife Sheilah of Boardman, one daughter Kathleen Champlin and her husband John of Akron, two grandsons, Jason and Dylan Langer, as well as three brothers, Horst, Uwe and Ju gen, and two sisters, Eva Reuter and Sieglinde Breer all in Germany. Besides his parents, Joachim was preceded in death by two brothers, Heinz and Klaus Langer. Friends may call from 1 to 3 PM at the Lane Family , Austintown Chapel where services will be held at 3 PM. The family would like to express their thanks to Dr. Ted Faull and his staff and also to the staff of Southern Hospice for all of the care, love and support shown them and Joachim during his illness. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Southern Hospice, 5401 Ashley Circle Suite E, Youngstown, Ohio 44515 in Mr. Langers name. |
