Obituary: Thomas "Frank" Loper - a 91 year-old native of St. Stephens, AL and longtime resident of Mobile passed into the hands of God on the morning of 24, 2016. Frank was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed spending his time at the family hunting camp in St. Stephens. He was employed at International Paper as a supervisor retiring after 42 years of service. Frank enjoyed life to the fullest and will be sadly missed by family and his many friends. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 60 years, Dorothy Allen Loper, and son, Thomas "Bud" Loper. Frank is survived by four children, Joyce Walker (John), Charlotte Haskew (Roger), Claude Loper (Pam), and Danny L. Loper; sister, Louise Neese; grandchildren, Monica Gober (Ty), Brent Loper, Ryan Loper (Sydeny), and Lauren Ready (Daniel); and great-grandchildren, Addison Bailey, Jackson Loper, Emily Claire Ready, and Landry Franklin Loper. services will be held from the chapel of Radney in Saraland on , 28, 2016, at 1 p.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the service hour. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Obituary: James Winfred Loper, 76, of Chatom entered into rest , 7, 2014 at a local hospital. services will be , 11, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Springhill Baptist Church in Chatom. Interment will follow at Springhill Baptist Church . Rev. Jim O’Neal will officiate. Mr. Loper was a native and lifelong resident of the Chatom area and was a member of Springhill Baptist Church. Winfred was left paralyzed six years ago from the waist down from a stroke due to a long lengthy illness, Guillain-Barré syndrome. In 2011 he was diagnosed with lung cancer. He has been trapped in this suffering and pain since May 26, 2009. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Willie Mae Mott Loper, two brothers, Jay Loper and Ben Loper, and his son, James Winfred Loper, Jr. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Charlotte Loper of Chatom, four children, Cathy Loper Richards (Jeffrey) of Austin, TX, Michelle Loper of Sherman, TX, Elisha Elms Coyle (Tommy) of Baton Rouge, LA, and Gary Todd Elms (Rosemary) of Saraland, AL, two sisters, Shirley Godwin (Burnell) and Ella Mae Lathan (Norman) all of Chatom, two brothers, Henry Loper, Jr. (Lois) of Daphne, AL, and Sam Loper (Adriane) of Chatom, two sisters-in-law, Betty Loper of Chatom and Itaska Loper of eight Mile, AL, eight grandchildren, Ryan Richards, Rachael Richards, Crystal Pinkstaff, Stephen Todd Elms, Elaina Elms, Charlotte Coyle, Evan Coyle, and Maggie Coyle, and four great-grandchildren. Active pallbearers include, Stephen Elms, Ryan Richards, Evan Coyle, David Platt, Chip Bell, Kenneth Baxter, and Ray Lankford. Obituary: Jacquelyn Thomason Looper, born in North Little Rock, AR and long time resident of Jackson, AL passed at her home on 11, 2014 at 8:30 am. She is survived by Walter B Looper, her beloved husband of 56 years; two children, Andrea Lea Taylor of Daphne, AL, and Paul Alan Looper of Rincon, GA. She was a devoted grandmother to five granddaughters: Jacquelyn Holly Pearce and Alexandra Grace Pearce of Gulf Shores, AL, Lilly Victoria Pearce of Daphne, AL, Sarah Cate Looper and Mary Grace Looper of Rincon, GA. One sister, Rachael Brooks of Fresno, CA. Three nieces, Joanie Padgett Ward of Benton, AR, Debra Padgett Adams of Alexander, AR and Myrna Sue Bopp of Fresno, CA. Mrs. Looper was preceded in death by her mother, Ola Mae Smith of Benton, AR, her sister, Beatrice Padgett of Alexander, AR and her brother Bethel Thomas of Fresno, CA. As a young woman in Arkansas Jackie worked for ALCOA and the Arkansas State Mental Hospital. marrying Walter and starting a family she became a stay at home mom. She was a member of various clubs and a frequent volunteer at her children’s schools. moving to Jackson, AL she became a member of the Garden Club and volunteered for Meals on Wheels. She also spent many years volunteering in the nursery of the First Baptist Church where she has been a member since moving to Jackson in 1977. Jackie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Asera for their compassionate care in her final months. There will be a memorial service in the sanctuary of the First Baptist Church in Jackson, AL on , 14, 2014 at 4:00 pm with visitation starting at 3:30 pm.
