She is survived by her son, James R. Smith of Lawley; daughter, Patsy McElroy (Ricky) of Lawley; grandchildren, James R. Lawley, James A. Obituary: MarKela LaShae Lawley Patterson, age 34 of Montevallo, gained her angel wings on , 7, 2015. She was a class of 1999 graduate of Montevallo High School. MarKela was the beautiful youngest daughter of Bobby Joe and Alice Lawley of Montevallo. She was a caring, loving mother to her daughter Alexis Sherell Lawley, a senior at Jemison High School, and her two year old son, William Treace Patterson of Columbiana. MarKela was the baby sister, who loved life and family, to Crystal Dawkins of Wilsonville and Ginger (Bryan) Smith of Jemison. Known as Aunt Fei Fei, she was the most awesome aunt to Maria and Bethany Dawkins of Wilsonville, Ashley (Bubba), Annie and Alley Smith all of Jemison. She was one of the most loved great Aunts God ever placed on this earth to: Natalee (Nat “a” bug), Laycee (Lou Lou), Taylan and Gage. She was greeted at the gates of heaven by her oldest sister, Amanda Jo Lawley; her grandparents, Hubert and Mildred Lawley and Vasser A. and Edna Vanderslice; and her best friend, Kentonio Kirkland who were there to welcome her home. MarKela was loved and will be dearly missed by her uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends who will forever hold her memories close to their hearts. Fly High and Free, Baby Girl. War Eagle!!!!
