Obituary: WORCESTER____Ruth A. (Petrauskas) Lettic, 91 of Worcester, passed away peacefully , 11, 2015 in Notre Dame Long Term , 555 Plantation Street. Her husband Daniel M. Lettic died in 2014. She is survived by her two sons, Daniel M. Lettic and his wife Karen of Worcester and Thomas Lettic and his wife Paula of Northborough; four grandchildren, Amanda Lettic, Daria Lay, Andrea Lettic and Nicholas Lettic; three great grandchildren, Tres Lay, Ayla Savona Lettic and Eva Ruth Lettic Foster; nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by three sisters, Nellie Anger, Julia Pomer and Stella Baltrukonis. She was born in Worcester a daughter of Isadore and Anna (Grigaliauskas) Petrauskas. Mrs. Lettic worked as a clerk-typist for the City of Worcester for many years at David Hale Fanning School before retirement. Prior to that, she worked at US Envelope Co. She was a member and past president of the Lithuanian War Veterans Auxiliary and the Charitable Society of Maironis Park. As an athletic fan, she enjoyed watching the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots. She enjoyed being outdoors and perfecting her hedges and flower gardens. Mrs. Lettics real passion came with raising her family and watching them grow. The family would like to extend a sincere thankyou to the staff of Notre Dame du Lac and Long Term for the kindness and consideration to Ruth and Daniel during their years with them. The funeral will be held on , 20, 2015 with a Memorial Mass at 10:30 a.m. in the Chapel of Notre Dame du Lac, 555 Plantation St. Burial in Worcester Memorial Park will be private. Obituary: Daniel Lettic, 92, of Worcester died on , 2, 2014. He leaves his wife of seventy years, Ruth A. (Petrauskas) Lettic, two sons, Daniel M. Lettic and his wife Karen of Worcester; Thomas P. Lettic and his wife Paula of Northborough; a sister Florence Berube of Worcester; four grandchildren, Amanda, Daria, Andrea, and Nicholas, one great grandchild Tres, nieces and nephews. Daniel was predeceased by his brother Edward Lettic, and his sister Selma Silva. He was born in Worcester, a son of Frank and Mary (Meizes) Lettic. Mr. Lettic was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving as a corporal in the Asiatic Pacific theatre. He received the Bronze Star, meritorious Service Award, American Defense Service Medal, Presidential Unit Citation, Combat Medical Badge and World War II Victory Medal. He was a past Commander of the Lithuanian American War Veterans, member of Disabled War Veterans, Chapter 4 American Legion and was a life member of the VFW. He was a retired Letter Carrier for the U.S. Post Office, Worcester. He was a member of the National Association of Letter Carriers, the National Association of Federal Employees and was a member of the Worcester Boys Club Alumni. He was athletic director of the Gabby Hartnett Little League which later became the Tom Ash League. He instituted the two inning rule, in which all players would play at least two innings which went nationwide. Also, he was chairman of the first and only Babe Ruth State Tournament held in Worcester at Norton Field. He was a member of the former St. Casimirs Church and was a Commentator and Lector there for many years. Dans free time in retirement was spent fresh water and deep sea fishing, and listening to or watching the Red Sox and the Patriots. Over the last 3 years Dan and Ruth spent quality time participating in various activities at the Notre Dame du Lac & Long Term Facility. Dans family also wants to extend a Great Thank You to all of the staff members and workers at Notre Dame du Lac who were always there for Dad when he needed assistance. The funeral was held on , 15, 2014 with a Memorial Mass at 10:30 am in the Chapel of Notre Dame du Lac, 555 Plantation St. Burial with Military Honors followed in Worcester Memorial Park, Paxton. Obituary: Louis Tig Letterie died on 3, 2016 at home. Formerly of East Boston, he lived in Melrose for over 50 years and had a second home in Osterville, MA. Born in East Boston in 1927, he was the son of James and Florence (DeLucia) Letterie. He attended East Boston HS and worked as a Production Manager at Teknor Apex for 40 years. He was a past Grand Knight of Fitton Council of East Boston and a 4th degree Knight of Bishop Chevras. He was a world traveler having spent time in South America, the Middle East and Europe with over 30 trips to Italy. He has a deep love of family and was a loyal friend. He always looked forward to seeing his relatives and friends and exchanging stories and recollections of growing up in East Boston. In addition to his beloved wife Eleanor, he leaves behind his children. Ernest and his wife Janet of Fredericksburg, VA, Raymond and his wife Laurie of Melrose, and his daughter Gloria Hernon of Melrose. He also leaves behind is treasured grandchildren, Rachel, Brandon, Jillian and Sean Hernon, Ernie and Heather Letterie, Matthew and Ashley Letterie, and three great grandchildren. He is survived by his sisters Rose Cedrone and Florence Phillips. He was predeceased by his brothers Frank, Pat and Jimmy and his sisters Mary Rao and Norma Szymanski. In addition to his immediate family, he is survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and dear friends. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit with the family at the Gately , 79 W. Foster St., Melrose, on , 8, 2016 from 8 AM to 9:30 AM, followed by a Mass at 10 AM at Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 1155 Main St., Wakefield, MA. Services will conclude with burial at Wyoming , Melrose. In lieu of flowers, friends are requested to make a donation to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute or Hope Hospice, 765 Attucks Lane, Hyannis, MA 02601. |
