Obituary: Michael Andrew Laitinen, 48, of Plymouth, passed away suddenly on 3, 2017. The cherished son of Elizabeth and the late Deane Laitinen of Plymouth, he is survived by his loving daughter Alyssa Laitinen of Plymouth, sister Denise Laitinen of Keaau, Hawaii, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. A resident of Plymouth for more than 40 years, Michael was a graduate of Cape Cod Technical High School. Owner of Laitinen Construction, he was a well-known carpenter and wood worker on the South Shore. Always quick with a smile and a laugh, he loved spending time with his daughter and family and his beloved 22-year old cat Trouble. Michael enjoyed riding his Harley motorcycle and was a former member of the Manomet Mystery Riders and the Upland Riders. Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours on , 9, 2017 from 5:00 -8:00 pm at Davis , 619 State Rd., Plymouth (Manomet). Obituary: Deane Laitinen, 70, of Plymouth, MA, passed away Sept. 13, 2013, at Jordan Hospital after a long battle with cancer. Deane was born in Quincy, MA, on Dec. 11, 1942, the son of the late Andrew (Toivo) Laitinen and Rose Laitinen. He grew up in Weymouth and resided in Plymouth for the past 40 years. Deeply patriotic, Deane proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and was stationed with the 8th Division Airbornne in Germany for two years. For 34 years he worked as a machinist at Richard?s Micro Tool. Over the years he also worked as a limo driver for Fancy Flair Limousine, was an Amsoil Distributor, and served as a sales representative for Northeast Rider magazine. Deane was married to his high school sweetheart of 46 years Elizabeth (Dyment) and passed away 11 days short of their 47th anniversary. Loving father of daughter Denise Laitinen of Keaau, Hawaii, son Michael Laitinen of Plymouth, beloved granddaughter Alyssa Laitinen, brother Wayne (Mary) Forester, Betty Marshman (aunt) of Weymouth, and Joe Dolanski (uncle) of Australia, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Deane loved working on cars and motorcycles. He enjoyed going on motorcycle trips to Laconia, N.H. and Sturgis, S.D. He was a member and past president of the Manomet Mystery Riders and over the years he helped raise thousands of dollars for area charities as a member of the motorcycle club. Deane was also a member of South Coastal Corvette Club for nearly two decades. Over the years he won numerous awards and trophies in car shows throughout the Northeast for his 1978 special edition Corvette. An accomplished skier, Deane and his wife were members of the Cape Cod Ski Club and enjoyed ski trips to Colorado, New Hampshire, and Maine. He was also a member of the American Legion Post #40, Safety Officer for American Legion Riders, Loyal Order of the Moose, Plymouth Rod & Gun Club, and a lifetime member of the John Alden Club. An avid dog lover, he was active in the Boston Snow Dogs and participated in dog shows with his beloved Siberian Husky ?Buddy?. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours , 4-8 p.m. at the Richard Davis , 619 State Rd (Rt 3A), Plymouth (Manomet). A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m., , Sept. 20 at St. Bonaventure?s Church in Manomet with burial to follow at Vine Hills . She leaves her husband of 29 years, Paul B. Laitinen; a brother, Ralph Forleo of Whitinsville; two sisters, Susan Stone of Northboro and Marie Adams of Albany, Vt. Three brothers, Steven Forleo, Salvadore Forleo, Frank Forleo and two sisters, Janet Shong and Josephine Sposato, all predeceased her. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Angelo and Antoinette (Biscotti) Forleo and lived many years in Sutton before moving to Millbury in 1968. Obituary: TOPSFIELD- Mr. Scott Benjamin Lais, 44, of Topsfield, died May 25, 2016 at his home. Born in Greensboro, North Carolina, he was the son of J. Stephen and Judith Fields Lais. He was raised in Topsfield, and graduated from Shore Country Day School in Beverly and St. Johns Preparatory School in Danvers. He continued his education at New York University and earned his undergraduate degree in English from Salem State University. Mr. Lais began his professional career in the publishing industry, working in New York City as a Contract Administrator. More recently, he had worked in an accounting practice. Scotts greatest life joy was being a father to his son, Cole. He relished the time they spent together and will be remembered by all as a dutiful and doting father. Referred to once as having a curmudgeonly charm, Scott was funny, thoughtful and very well read. He enjoyed the outdoors: observing birds, taunting squirrels, and spending time at the Ipswich River Wildlife Sanctuary, where in recent years he had developed a mastery for foraging wild edible mushrooms. Indeed, he was also an epicure, and was especially adept at making breads, sauces and meats. Scott also had an eclectic passion for music and had amassed a sizable record collection. He was a Red Sox, Patriots and Bruins fan, something that was no easy feat throughout the years when he lived in New York. More than anything else, though, Scott was a proud, active and engaged father. He will be deeply missed and will remain in our hearts. Scott is survived by his beloved son, Cole Lais of New York, his parents, J. Stephen and Judith Fields Lais of Topsfield, his brother, Jeffrey William Lais (and his husband, Francisco Teixeira) of San Francisco, CA, his paternal grandmother, Mary P. Lais of Washington, MO (and now St. Paul, MN) and several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. ARRANGEMENTS: Scotts Memorial Service will be held at the LaSalette Faith Community, 207 Boston St., (Youth Hall at the Topsfield Fair Grounds), Topsfield, , May 31 at 10:00 am.
