Obituary: PORTLAND - Helen Schwey Levine, loving wife, mother, and grandmother passed away on 17, 2012, from cancer. Helen was the daughter of Henry and Sarah Schwey. Helen was born in Portland where she lived most of her life until she and her husband, Harvey Levine moved to Falmouth in 1982. graduating from Portland High School, Helen worked as a book-keeper for Reliable Furniture until marrying Harvey in 1958 and becoming a home-maker and later a mother. Once her children were grown, Helen provided childcare in her home for over twenty years. Prior to that, she also managed His and Hers Cleaners which she owned with her husband and worked at Time-Warner Cable. Helen belonged to Temple Beth-El in Portland. Helen is survived by her son, Eliot Levine who now lives in Boston, MA, daughter, Cathy Levine Gilgore and her husband, Dr. Lloyd Gilgore who reside in Doylestown, PA. Helen was also the loving grandmother of Jarrett (19) and Erica (17) Gilgore. In Portland, Helen is survived by her sister, Rita Weisberg and brothers-in law Abe Benjamen and Edward Richman. She is also survived by her sister, Marcia Cutler of Boynton Beach, FL. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 50 years, Harvey Levine and from Portland, her sister, Judith Benjamen, twin sister Dianne Richman and brother-in-law, Edward Weisberg. She was also predeceased by her brother-in-law, Henry Cutler from Boynton Beach, FL. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews who will all have affectionate memories of Aunt Helen. Friends and family are invited to attend a funeral service at Temple Beth-El, 400 Deering Ave., Portland, on 21, at 1:30 p.m. Rabbi Carolyn Braun will be officiating. Interment will follow at the Temple Beth-El Memorial Park. Shiva will be observed at the home of niece and nephew, Karen and Alan Lerman at 3 Van Carll Circle in Scarborough following the funeral and from 6-8 p.m. that evening. by Jones, Rich & Hutchins , Portland. Obituary: Lewiston- Shawn Henri Levesque, 38, of Lewiston passed away at home on 8th. He was born on Jan. 18, 1977 to parents Gerard and Deborah (Worthington) Levesque. Shawn graduated from Lewiston High in 1995 and enrolled in the U.S. Army as a Cavalry Scout. He served at Fort Hood, TX and did a tour in Kuwait as an Armored Reconnaissance Specialist. his military service, Shawn worked as a Security Officer at CMMC for several years, while also working on a degree in Leadership and Organizational Studies from USM. Since then hes been searching for work hed actually enjoy, including stints at the Auburn Public Library, Lee Auto in Topsham, and more recently as a Community Leader with the Maine Conservation Corps. Additionally, Shawns love of learning led him to teach English in China for 6 months. A voracious reader, philosopher, and poet, Shawns mind was constantly running at full speed. He was always on a quest for knowledge and new experiences. Many will remember deep conversations theyve had with him during walks through Thorncrag or over a pint. Several years ago, Shawn fulfilled a life-long dream of traveling to Greece. He also dabbled in music and could often be seen playing his flute with friends at open mic nights or even while simply walking around town. Shawn had a sincere love of nature, which led him to learn all that he could about herbs and foraging. He shared this knowledge, whether you wanted it or not, through numerous postings and conversations. His mother never knew what naturally plucked plant or animal he would be cooking up in her kitchen next. The direction the world is heading in troubled him deeply. He is survived by his parents, Gerard and Deborah Levesque; his brothers Keith Levesque, and his wife Colette of Greene, and Ryan Levesque, and his wife Elisha of Bowdoinham; nephew Kayson Levesque and nieces Dezirae, Olyvia, and McKayla Levasseur of Bowdoinham; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is predeceased by his grandmother, Flora Worthington St. Laurent; grandparents Henri and Jeanne Levesque; and a special uncle, Roland Levesque. Shawn was a loving son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend to so many. Well miss his infectious smile, his whole-body laugh, his beautiful music and poetry, and enlightening lessons and debates. The world missed out on Shawns tremendous untapped potential. Obituary: Sabattus - Russell R. Levesque, 67, went to be with his Lord and Savior morning 30th at his home. He was born in Brunswick May 12, 1947, a son of Antoine and Louise (Normand) Levesque. Russ was educated in Brunswick schools and graduated from Brunswick High School in 1965. graduation he joined the Navy and sailed the Mediterranean on an aircraft carrier. On 14, 1975, he married Shirley Elvin. have lived in Sabattus for the past 30 years. At the time of his passing, he was employed at Bath Iron Works where he worked for the past 40 years. Russ loved the Lord Jesus and had a strong faith. He and his wife Shirley were both active members of TNT Bible Ministries in Topsham and Russ was currently a member of the church's Prayer Team. Several years ago, he and Shirley participated in two Mission Trips through the church, first to the Dominican Republic, then Costa Rica. He was also a member of The American Legion, Sabattus Post. He loved being with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Russ was an avid sports fan and was also a competitive Cribbage player. He was a loving, devoted husband, father and grandfather who will be missed greatly. He leaves his wife Shirley Levesque, four children Mary Elvin, Dennis Elvin and wife Diane, Sharon Albert and companion David Cebula and Katie Carter and husband Ray; eight grandchildren Joshua, Ashley and Josiah Carter, Alivia Manson, Heidi Dunn, Angie Anderson, Hillary Titcomb and Ethan Elvin; 23 great-grandchildren; a sister Doris Leclerc and husband Maurice; a brother Tony Levesque and wife Donna, several nieces, nephews and cousins as well as a great many friends. He was predeceased by a granddaughter Mary Sharon Carter and his parents.
