Obituary: In the Spring of 1949 God sanctioned the marital union of Dorothy and Cleveland Cobb, Sr. to produce the seed which grew from embryo to fetus, making her grand entrance to Planet Earth nine months later on 7, 1950 the one, the only, baby Wanda Ann Cobb was born! This precious gift of God grew up with her siblings in the city of New Orleans in the area called GERT TOWN. Even then she had an attractive magnetism which drew people to her. Wanda was originally baptized at an early age at Philip Memorial United Methodist Church. She received her education in the Orleans Parish Public School System, attending the following schools: Rudolph Thomas Danneel #2 Elementary, James Durham Junior High, and Booker T. Washington Senior High schools. Her creativity, wit, and personality exuded throughout her academic matriculation. On 27, 1966, Wanda became the young bride of Willie Lucas. One year later Quinsonna Marie became the fruit of their union, followed by Joseph Willie(Noonie). The saga continued as seven other little souls were born in the following order: Ellis, Lamar Barry, Demond Isdor (Sweetie), Dorginia, David KaVar, Rodney Jorut, and, Wendell Christopher (Daves baby). So, how did the title, Mother Nature, come about hummmmmmm? Thats a family secret! Lets take it a step further-what about Awh Oui Awh? Hello: Awh Oui Awh Goodbye: Awh Oui Awh Have a great day: Awh Oui Awh The Price Is Right: Awh Oui Awh Bob As you can see this most special saying of Mother Nature has whatever connotation you your heart would desire. Mother Natures talents are too numerous to list. On this earthly walk she was an expert poet, novelty sewer (pillows, handkerchiefs, potholders, aprons, scarves, hats, and casual clothes to formal wear), stand-up/sit-down/lay-down comedienne, master motivator, mommy to many and mother to all. She spent months at a time visiting her children in Jacksonville, Florida. There she won the hearts of countless residents who would have preferred that she stayed. However, the lure of her place of birth tugged at her heartstrings strongly enough to pull her back to the Crescent City. She has countless friends and loved one in Florida, and every city she has graced with her presence throughout her extensive travel repertoire. During those catastrophic days after Hurricane Katrina, she rose to the rank of unofficial Commander in Charge for many souls stranded in Gert Town. With uncontested authority she commanded foot soldiers to go seek out and return with supplies to meet physical needs until help arrived. Her bravery, tenacity, love and commitment to the Most High God was evident that His strength was made perfect in human weakness. Although she was rescued by a helicopter from Jefferson Parish, they, no doubt, rescued a hero when they hoisted her above Interstate 10. Residing for several months post Katrina with her sister in California, Mother Nature was baptized on New Years Day, 2006, at Mt. Erie Missionary Baptist Church San Diego, California were Dr. Walter G. Wells is pastor. She was an active member sending cards to the sick and bereaved even after returning home to New Orleans. Once coming back to New Orleans, she became a member of Hollygrove Church of Christ under the ministry of Charles Marsalis. Mother Nature actively assisted with the Childrens Ministry and artistically created gift bags & baskets using her own funds. Mother Nature began her life of eternity with The Lord on 23rd. She leaves a quasar of light, life, and love that has yet to be captured by this earthly realm. She is preceded in finis by her parents, Dorothy and Cleveland Cobb Sr., her god-parents Henry Kinchin (Iantha) and Louise Johnson (Murray). Her siblings little Lisa Mae Cobb and her fallen solider Cleveland Cobb Jr., her son Joseph Willie (Noonie) Lucas, grandchildren Raquel & Marcell mother and father in law; Willie Scott & Nellie Lucas, brother- and sister-in-law Cornelius and Geraldine. She leaves behind family and friends that has spectacular memories on which to reflect. Obituary: Patricia Rieth Lucas, born on 10, 1935, passed away at the age of 79, peacefully at her home on 8, 2015 surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her loving husband J. Lucas Jr., children, Peggy Lucas Cresanta (James), Tony Lucas (Lisa Legaux), Jim Lucas (Lori Sigley). She is preceded in death by her parents - Loretta Barrett Rieth, Edward F. Rieth Sr. Sister Gay Wattingly, and brother Edward Rieth Jr. She is survived by her two precious and adorable dogs Smalls and Gigalo, Her lunch bunch (Ann, Joan, and Charlene). Patricia was outgoing, optimistic, and always smiling with a wonderful heart, and adored by her children and loved by many. The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Thomas Nuttli and the staff at East Jefferson Hospital for their care and compassion for Pat throughout her illness. Services will be held on 12, 2015 at Leitz Eagan , 4747 Veterans Blvd in Metairie. Visitation will begin at 11, with a service to follow at 1. Burial at Greenwood .
