Obituary: SHREVEPORT, LA - Jodie McMillian Loyd was born on 18, 1937 in Coushatta, LA. Her parents were Charlie McMillian and Lessie Hood. She went to be with the Lord and her loving husband on 24, 2015 after battling a long severe illness. She led a full and active life. Bowling, fishing, softball and her grandchildren were her true passions. Mrs. Loyd was an amazing homemaker and loving mother and wife. She was an active member of Northwood Baptist Church for over forty years. Mrs. Loyd is preceded in death by her loving husband of 54 years, Clarence "Leon" Loyd,; her parents, and a brother, John Henry Smith. She is survived by her sons, Chris Loyd and wife Rene' and their two sons, Chad and Chase of Shreveport and Douglas Loyd and wife Brandi and their sons, Nathan and Brandon of Blanchardville, WI; son, David Todd and his wife Carolyn and their daughter Jamie of Shreveport. She is also survived by a sister, Dorothy LeGates and son Jimmy of DeQueen, AR, and numerous nieces and nephews A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., , 28, 2015, at Centuries Memorial , officiated by Rev. Jimmy Eppinette and Rev. Kevin Smith. Interment will follow in Centuries Memorial Park. The family will receive guests on evening, 27, 2015, from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home. Pallbearers are Chad Loyd, Chase Loyd, Nathan Loyd, John Smith, Randall Gill, Kenny Gill, and Kevin Moore. Honorary pallbearers are William Moore, Merrill LeCaze, and Carlton Anderson. The family would like to thank Drs. Cyrus Kocherla, Richard Morrison, Randy White, Mark Smith, and Ali Chandler, and the staff of Life Hospital on Linwood Ave. for the continuous care and compassion shown to Mrs. Loyd during her illness.
