Obituary: Mrs. Freda Decareaux LeBlanc, 83, a native of Gramercy, LA and resident of New Orleans for the past 65 years, passed away peacefully in her home in the Azaleas at Woldenberg on 19, 2010. Daughter of the late Theodule Decareaux and Carmen Bienvenu Decareaux, Mrs. LeBlanc spent her early years, as the Times-Picayune put it, amphibious[ly], developing a swimming career that would lead to several AAU records in 100-meter and 220-meter backstroke, making her the leading amateur swimmer in the South. At the same time she was clocking miles in the pool, Mrs. LeBlanc racked up another 8,000 miles on foot, walking 4 miles to and from school each day, never missing a single one in eleven years. graduating from Lutcher High School, she attended LSU on a swimming scholarship, and was on her way to a championship college career before deciding to experience life in he city and move to New Orleans to live and work. There she met Ashton J. LeBlanc, whom she married in 1947. Mrs. LeBlanc was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend who throughout her life inspired others with the quiet determination, perseverance, patience, strength, and generosity of spirit with which she lived. She was a dedicated homemaker and a devout Catholic. A parishioner of St. Andrew the Apostle Parish for 45 years, she was active in church and school activities while her children attended St. Andrew School. An avid Saints fan who had attended games through thick and thin since the inception of the team, Mrs. LeBlanc finally got a little preview of heaven this year when she was able to cheer the Saints to victory in the Super Bowl. In addition to her parents, Mrs. LeBlanc was preceded in death by her husband Ashton; her daughter Patricia LeBlanc Trahan; her son Ashton J. (Manny) LeBlanc; her sisters, Florence Decareaux Bossier, Roberta Decareaux Clement, and Dot Sons. She is survived by three daughters, Sue LeBlanc Ferrer, Janet LeBlanc Domino, and Beth LeBlanc, as well as her brother Cesir Decareaux. She leaves behind to cherish her memory eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. Also mourning her loss are sons-in-law Jorge Ferrer and Mike Domino, daughter-in-law Ann Hastings LeBlanc, close family friend Susan Krantz, and former son-in-law Beal Trahan, Jr. We especially wish to express our heartfelt gratitude to Mamas extended family at the Azaleas, who loved and helped care for her, as well as to Mrs. Delores Trimble, who was a blessing to us in Mamas final days. Obituary: Ernest J. LeBlanc, Jr. “Jay” passed away on , 16, 2015. He was born in New Orleans on 9, 1936. Devoted husband of 58 years to Mary Ellen Guillot LeBlanc. Son of the late Lucie Drouet LeBlanc and Ernest J. LeBlanc, Sr. Loving father of Ernest J. “Jay” LeBlanc III (Kim), Harold G. LeBlanc (Wendy), and Luellen L. Mayhew (Richard) of London, England. Grandfather of Bradley Belloni, Scott LeBlanc, Kristen LeBlanc, Patrick LeBlanc, Stephen Mayhew, Abigail Mayhew, Gerard LeBlanc, and Gabriella Mayhew. Great grandfather of Ella and Joshua Belloni. Brother of Phyllis Indest, Gayle Grossimon (L. A.), Drouet LeBlanc (Dianne), and the late Marilyn Sicard. He is also survived by his brother-in-law, A. J. Sicard, many cousins and nieces and nephews. Mr. LeBlanc was a retired banker. A graduate of Jesuit High School, class of 1954, and he attended L.S.U. He was past President of the Exchange Club of New Orleans and past King of the Alhambra’s Organizational Ball. Mr. LeBlanc was a parishioner of St. Matthew the Apostle Catholic Church. He was a 4th Degree Knights of Columbus Assembly 3226. He was a devoted L.S.U. Tiger fan. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Mass at LAKE LAWN METAIRIE FUNERAL HOME, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. in New Orleans, on , 21, 2015 at 11:00AM. Obituary: ERNEST E. LEBLANC, Also known as Daddy, Poppa Gene, Pops, Paw-Paw, Pepaw, and Uncle Gene. Ernest E. LeBlanc, 78 years old, of Ponchatoula, passed away peacefully , 18, 2014, at St. Tammany Parish Hospital. He served in the Marine Corps. He retired from Boilermakers Local 37 in 1996. He was a man that loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisher. He was born May 21, 1936, son of Ernest D. and Louise Meyers LeBlanc. He is survived by his wife of 57years, Lorena Sanchez LeBlanc; son, Gene Allen LeBlanc; daughter, Diana LeBlanc Bordelon and husband Danny; daughter-in-law, Paula LeBlanc-Burchfield and husband Les; six grandchildren, Jodi LeBlanc Raiford and husband Justin, Courtney LeBlanc Delatte and husband Neil, Devin LeBlanc and wife Kayla, Derek LeBlanc and wife Jenee, Kasey and Mason Bordelon; six great-grandchildren, Taylor and Gabi Raiford, Hudson and Wyatt Delatte, and Levi and Jase LeBlanc; one sister, Mary Jane St. Cyr; one brother, Vernon Teti LeBlanc; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends. Preceded in death by his parents, Ernest D. and Louise Meyers LeBlanc; son, Timmy LeBlanc; one sister, Rebecca Becky LeBlanc Albin; two brothers, James Albert LeBlanc and Leroy Booboo LeBlanc. Friends will be received at Harry McKneely & Son in Ponchatoula, , 21, 2014, from 8:30 am until the funeral begins at 11:30 am in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Sand Hill , Ponchatoula. |
