Sis was married for 64 years to the love of her life, Nathan Antoine LaPorte. Sis was a nurse by training and her caring nature was felt by all who knew her. Together they enjoyed traveling abroad with the Gonzales Culture Club and around the Americas with close family. Throughout her life, Sis enjoyed caring for others, especially her family, by blessing them with her delicious cooking and quick wit. She was the rock of our family. Obituary: Frankie Joseph LaPorte, native and resident of Baton Rouge, passed away from melanoma cancer on , 30, 2014 at the age of 70. Frankie graduated from Woodlawn High School, attended LSU and served in the National Guard. He was the owner and operator of a family business, Custom Paint and Body Shop, Inc. for 33 years. He also was a Reserve Deputy for EBR Sheriffs Office for 35 years. He enjoyed golfing, playing drums, and flying his airplane. He was a devoted family man who loved to cook jambalaya and gumbo for his family and friends. He was always willing to help a family member or a friend with repair projects. He will be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his son, Steven N. LaPorte and wife, Michele; daughter, Tina M. LaPorte; grandchildren, Nicholas J. LaPorte, Marisa M. LaPorte, and Evan Ritchie; sisters, Margaret L. Elgin and husband, Billy; Janet L. Willett and husband, Marvin; brother, Clyde J. LaPorte and wife, Carrie; special friend, Penny Pennington; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Frank Joseph LaPorte and Nellie LeBlanc Franklin. Pallbearers will be Hunter Langlois, Michael LaPorte, Mark LaPorte, Bo Langlois, Doug LaPorte, Clint Dobson, and Johnny Pourciau. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks on , 2, 2014 from 5 to 8 pm. Obituary: DELCAMBRE - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Mr. Nedie Joseph LaPointe, age 71, at 2:00 pm , 24, 2011 at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church. Fr. Herb Bennerfield will be the celebrant. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. A gathering of family and friends will be held at Evangeline of Delcambre on from 10:00 am until 10:00 pm, with the Rosary being recited at 7:00 pm. The funeral home will reopen on from 8:00 am until 1:30 pm. A native of Lafayette Parish and resident of New Iberia, Mr. LaPointe passed away on , 21, 2011 at Iberia Extended Hospital. Nedie, known by family and friends as Pete, was retired from Liberty Life Insurance with 18 years of service. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp, and enjoyed fishing and the outdoors. He leaves behind many fond memories that will forever be cherished by all who knew and loved him. Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Isabelle Sonnier LaPointe of New Iberia; his son and daughter-in-law, Billy J. LaPointe and Keesha Hebert LaPointe of Erath; his grandchildren, Chaz Michael and Ambri Kate LaPointe; his mother, Inez Touchet Sonnier of Cicero, NY; three sisters, Nedia LaPointe Copp (his twin) of New Iberia, Maudrey Bristol of Cicero, NY, Delores Krommydas of Holiday, FL; and two brothers, Percy LaPointe of New Iberia, and Harris LaPointe of Gulfport, MS. He was preceded in death by his father, Issaac LaPointe; and sister, Thelma Landry. Obituary: NEW IBERIA - services will be celebrated for Joseph Percy LaPointe, age 81, at 1:00 pm , May 1, 2017 at Assembly Christian . Pastor Paul Neel will officiate. Mr. LaPointe will be buried at Holy Family privately at a later date with Military Honors. A gathering of family and friends will be held at Evangeline of New Iberia on from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm, and on from 8:00 am until 12:30 pm. Joseph Percy LaPointe was born 15, 1936 in Lafayette to the late Isaac LaPointe and the late Inez Touchet LaPointe and passed away peacefully , 27, 2017 at Iberia Medical . Joseph was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corp. He was a faithful member of Assembly Christian and enjoyed visiting the local nursing homes with his church family to sing for the residents. He will be dearly missed. Survivors include his sisters and brother, Nedia Copp, Maudrey Bristol, Delores Sonnier and Harris LaPointe; and many nieces, nephews and dear friends. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Thelma Landry; and his brother, Nedie LaPointe. Pallbearers will be members of the family and friends. Memorial contributions may be made in Josephs name to Assembly Christian , 4201 E. Admiral Doyle Dr. New Iberia, LA 70560.
