Obituary: Dixie Lancon 3, 1931~ 19, 2010 Dixie Lancon,79, a resident of Lafayette, passed away , 19, 2010. She was born in Patterson on 12/3/1931. She grew up and went to school in Jeanerette. She furthered her education at SLI (now UL) in Lafayette and graduated with a B.A. in Lower Elementary Education. While attending college she was a member of the pep squad called the Red Jackets . graduating from college she married and started her teaching career in Patterson. She also taught at Bayou Vista Elementary and at M.D. Shannon. teaching many years she retired from St. Mary Parish and remained active as a volunteer in the school system. She also enjoyed cooking and baking. She was noted for her red velvet cakes and pecans pies among family and friends who she loved very much. She also enjoyed gardening , reading, visiting with family and friends and taking care of her dogs. Dixie was living in Lafayette at the time of her death. Dixie is survived by her daughter Linda Lancon of Lafayette, her sisters Tommie and her husband Ray Gutzman of Golden CO. Betty Gomez Fourroux of Jeanerette,and her faithful companions Angie and . She was preceded in death by her husband , Myron Lancon, her parents Milton and Clemence Hebert Gomez, her sister Germaine Gomez . Visitation will be 22, 2010 from 9 am until 11 am. Obituary: BOSSIER CITY, LA - A Mass will be held for Alton Francis Lanclos at 12:30 p.m. on , 20, 2017 at St. Jude Catholic Church. Visitation will be held at 11:30 a.m. prior to the Mass. Interment will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Park. Alton was born 25, 1924 in ville, LA and passed away on 16, 2017 in Bossier City. He joined the Marines and served his country during WWII. He was awarded two Purple Hearts and a Gold Star during his time spent in Bougainville and Iwo Jima. He worked as a civil engineer with TL James and Netherton Construction companies until he retired in 1989. He was preceded in death by Lula, his loving wife of over 65 years and his beloved daughter Cindy. Alton is survived by his sons, Charles Lanclos and wife Suzan, John Lanclos and wife Nancy and Michael Lanclos; grandchildren, Cherie Greene, Ryan Lanclos and wife Melissa, Jonathan Smith and wife Elyse, Heather Cole and husband Corey, Taylor Lanclos, Stephen Lanclos, Hailey Lanclos; great grandchildren, Devin Greene, Abbrial Satterwhite, Carley Smith and Ava Cox as well as numerous extended family and loved ones. Pallbearers will be Ryan Lanclos, Jonathan Smith, Corey Cole, Mike Lanclos, John Lanclos, and Charles Lanclos.
