Obituary: Born 18, 1939, Owen Francis Laiche, a native of Paulina and dedicated member of St. Josephs Catholic Church, passed away , 11, 2011 at home with his wife at his side. Owen was an army veteran and retired employee of LaRoche Chemical. He led a full life, was an avid vegetable gardener and took his greatest joy in spending time with his family. Owen was a wonderful and devoted husband, father and grandfather who will be sadly missed by his family and many friends. He will always be our hero as he fought a long battle with leukemia with courage, strength and dignity; never losing his faith. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 47 years, Virginia Gravois Laiche; daughter Pam Bourgeois and husband Todd; son Wade Laiche and wife Elena; son Damian Laiche and wife Nancy; daughter Becky Poché and husband Perry; his sisters Jane Mizell of Denham Springs, Ida Rae Jowers of Denham Springs, Lorraine Trahan of Gibson, Pat Lasseigne of St. James, and Leola St. Pierre of Lutcher. Owen is also survived by eleven grandchildren who lovingly referred to him as their Pappy, as well as numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews and treasured friends Owen was preceded in death by his parents Leopold and Amedia Schexnayder Laiche, an infant daughter Monique and his sister Marjorie Giroir of Gibson, LA Visitation will be at St. Josephs Catholic Church in Paulina, LA on , 13, 2011 from 10 a.m. until 12:45 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 pm at the church with Fr. Vincent Dufresne officiant. Burial will follow in the St. Joseph Mausoleum. Our family would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Gerald Miletello and all of his caregivers at the Pennington Regional Medical at The Baton Rouge General for the wonderful care and attention given to him throughout his 21 year battle with Leukemia. under the direction of H.C. Obituary: Gerald Laiche, age 81, passed away at his home on , 30, 2014. He was a native of Sorrento and resident of St. Amant. Gerald belonged to the boy Scouts Troop 69 of St. Amant and served as altar boy at Holy Rosary Catholic Church during the time Fr. Wysoff was officiating. He was a member of the National Guard, Battery D and Anti-Aircraft of Donalsonville. He belonged to the American Legion Gonzales Post and a life time member of the VFW in Gonzales. Gerald served in the Navy Sea Bees for four years during the Korean War. He was a retired pipefitter for the local 198 of Baton Rouge, as well as retired Benard and Burk Supervisor. He worked as a correctional officer at Hunts Correctional for 7 years. Gerald enjoyed riding horses, gardening, hunting and fishing. He was a graduate of St. Amant High school, Class of 1952. Gerald is survived by his daughters, Pamela Crotwell and husband, Geron, Elizabeth Deweese and husband, Travis, Sr.; sister, Mary Ann Nielsen; brothers, Richard Laiche and Gordon Laiche; grandchildren, Jared Crotwell, Tiffany Crotwell, Haley Deweese, Chelsey Deweese, Travis Deweese, Jr.; great-grandchildren, Alanna Crotwell, Noah Stephens, Brycen Castille and Anna Castille. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Anna Marie Massi Laiche; parents, Leonce and Mae Guitreau Laiche; half-brother, Robert Mire. Visitation will be held on , 2, 2015 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church from 9:00 am until Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am with Fr. Michael Galea. Obituary: Marie Bruno LaHitte passed away on , 11, 2014 in New Orleans. Beloved wife of the late Leonard S. LaHitte. Daughter of the late Joseph Bruno and Francesca Giliberti Bruno. Preceded in death by her brother Victor H. Bruno and sister Rita B. Ferrand. Survived by her only child Lenard J. LaHitte and his wife Carol. Sister of Frank S. Bruno and Aunt of Joseph M., Frank A., Stephen P., Robert J., Thomas M., and Christopher A. Bruno. Great Aunt of the grandchildren of her brother Frank and her beloved Lauren and Alex Hemard. She will be greatly missed by her family. Mrs. LaHitte was a native and lifelong resident of New Orleans. Marie was young at heart and lived life to the fullest until recently. Opera was instrumental in her ambitions including singing in the New Orleans Opera Ensemble, weddings and in numerous Catholic choirs. Marie had the voice of an Angel and will be singing in a new choir now. Her generosity and love of cooking was known to her numerous friends. She delighted in leaving a pan of her homemade lasagna at many a doorstep! Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Mass at St. Francis Xavier Church, 444 Metairie Rd. on , 13, 2014 at 1:00 pm Visitation from 12:00 pm until time of service.
