Obituary: Joy Ann Loop, 89, of Kokomo, passed away at 3:25 PM 4, 2015 at St. Joseph Hospital, Kokomo. Born 7, 1926 in Kokomo, she was the daughter of the late Edgar J. Parkinson, and Helen (Alter) Parkinson. She married James Paul Loop May 10, 1947 in Kokomo. He preceded her in death 24, 2004. She was employed with Haworth High School as the Deans secretary for 14 years, retiring in 1993. Joy was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, and she was well known for her holiday baking. Her specialty was baking cookies and toffee. She enjoyed playing bridge with friends, and in her free time working on crossword puzzles. Whether you knew her as Joy, Mom, Grandma, Aunt, Cousin, or Sister, we can all agree her parents were inspired when they gave her a name synonymous with delight, sweet happiness, and good feelings. Joys greatest pleasure in life was to serve others, to be giving and thoughtful, supporting and advising selflessly, never caring to be in control. She stood side by side with Paul, her Husband of 57 years, building a legacy that will honor them both for generations to come. She continued to watch over us, her home at the corner of Berkley and Jefferson remaining as the center of the family. She is survived by two sons Jeffrey Paul Loop, Indianapolis, John Perry Loop of Chicago; grandsons, Brian Jeffrey (Chloe) Loop, Benjamin Paul (Carrie Johnson) Loop, Riley Stephenson Loop, granddaughter, Chloe Mae Loop; great grandchildren, Ellie, Rak, Caroline, Joe, and Jack Loop. Joy was preceded in death by her parents, a son James Parkinson Loop, and sister Sue Coles. services will be 10:30 AM 9, 2015 at Grace United Methodist Church, 219 West Mulberry Street, Kokomo, IN 46901. Pastor Mark Hill will officiate. Burial will follow at Kokomo Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM 8, 2015 at Ellers Webster Chapel, 3400 South Webster Street, Kokomo; also one hour prior to services at the church on . Memorials may be directed to Grace United Methodist Church with envelopes available at the mortuary and church. |
