Obituary: Jason D. Lindower, Jr., 79, of South Bend, IN, passed away at 12:45 a.m. , 6, 2015 in his home, following an illness. He was born on 22, 1935 to the late Jason D., Sr. and Blanche (Fruth) Lindower in Toledo, OH, and has lived in South Bend since 1969, coming from Elizabethtown, PA. Along with his parents; he was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald J. Lindower. Jason received a B.S. Degree from Manchester and a M.B.A. from Indiana University. He received his CPA in 1962. Jason started out working for Arthur Young and in Toledo, OH, where he was a CPA for four years. He then worked for six years as a Business Manager and Assistant Professor at Elizabethtown in Elizabethtown, PA. Jason then became Director of Financial Management and Vice-President of finance at Saint Marys for four years. Next he went to work for Indiana University, Northwest, where he worked as an Associate Professor and Director of the Undergraduate Program in Business for two years. Jason then returned to Saint Marys , where he worked as a Controller and Business Manager for 14 years, before retiring in 1990. On 9, 1957, he married Margaret Coffman at the Church of the Brethren in Hamilton, OH. Jason is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Margaret Lindower of South Bend, IN; four daughters, Dr. Karen (husband Dr. Dustin) Kimball of Hillsdale, MI; Elaine Lindower (husband Zoughbi Zoughbi) of South Bend, IN; Diane (husband Mark) Schoff of Williamsburg, VA; Julia Lindower of Sebring, FL; one son, John Lindower of Columbia, SC; and 16 grandchildren, Lawrence D. (wife Allie) Kimball IV; Elizabeth (husband Tyler) Hubbell; Jason Kimball; Emily Kimball; Marcelle Al-Zoughbi; Tarek Al-Zoughbi; Lucas Al-Zoughbi; Rafiq Al-Zoughbi; Taylor Lindower; Joshua (wife Michelle) Lindower; Vanessa Lindower; Zachariah Lindower; Olivia Lindower; Evan Schoff; Erin Schoff; Erika Schoff. Jason was a member of Prince of Peace Church of the Brethren in South Bend, IN; and a member of the finance committee for Timbercrest Retirement , in North Manchester, IN, from 1991-2014 and a member of the board for five years. He also served on the Board of Directors for the United Religious Community for several years. Jason enjoyed traveling, singing, camping, and taking walks; but most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and seeing everyone at the annual family reunions. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. , 9, 2015 at Prince of Peace Church of the Brethren, 53105 North Ironwood Drive, South Bend, IN, with Pastor David Hendricks and Pastor Tyler Hubbell officiating. Friends and family may gather from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. at the church, for a visitation. Burial will take place, at a later date, at Fountain in Fostoria, OH.
